- I was hired before the store was open; working on store set up. With in the first six month I was promoted to department manager. I also was the Secretary for the safety team.

- I learned at lot about the telson. Promoted items that just would not move, ordering, price changes, need to counts, on hand adjustments, store resets, built furniture, stocked my shelves, and dealt with all customer problems and needs.

- I stepped down as manager to go back to College to advance in my career (in January of 2001).

- I worked jewelry in 2002. I checked in all merchandise and made sure it was secularly locked away. I also had to learn how to do ear piercing while working in this department.

DOLLAR TREE

Store 2454

- A few of my duties as the Store Manager; creating a schedule weekly, all employee request for vacations, personal days and sick days. I did most of the store ordering, taking in all vendors merchandise with a PDT gun, unload the truck, worked out the freight, store resets and seasonal changes. I was also the HR manager, I did all interviews, hiring and firing.I held monthly safety meetings, respond to corporate emails, safety recalls and created a daily planner everyday.

- I was responsible for our safe and all of our drawers. I had to take care of all of our banking issues and financial issues at store level. Check register accountability daily on both cashiers and managers draws; also audit registers daily to make sure accurate funds are there (overage/shortage).

- I improved the stores inventory each year that I was with Dollar Tree. My first year my shrink went from $16,800.00 to $8,200.00. The next year I was up against $8,200 and my inventory came back with $102.86!

- To keep my store running I need to create a schedule weekly, based on predicted payroll hours, forecasted sales and up coming events and tasks. Fallow play-book, weekly game plans and the monthly flat to keep stores appearance up-to-date. Place weekly orders to keep store aisle, wings and end caps full and replenish all store supplies.

- Attend weekly conference calls and monthly and quarterly meetings. Set daily and weekly goals that need to be completed by each team member. As General managers I helped assist other stores with there inventories and also store clean up crews for those in need of help.

- As my team’s leader I hold high standards in customer service excellence. I created a power point for my team members to better understand what excellent customer service means to me and other leading industries. I am always watching and listening to my team; so am there to coach them with any customer service issues.

- I really enjoy going out side of the box and I love when my team does also. I enjoy creating my own displays and creating in store promotions! I have done free car washes, we have had Customer appreciation days and I even created a scavenger hunt for kids once on Halloween.

- Because my store is always running smoothly, I frequently get pulled to travel for many reasons! Including training new managers and team members. I also get sent to fix Other stores issues; including merchandising, cleaning, resets and fix office paper work! I also have been involved in multiple new store openings; traveling sometimes for up to 6 weeks.

OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE

- I have also been a self employed contractor. I worked with my father(also a contractor)learning new things and doing thing I already enjoyed. Some of the jobs I did were cleaning, painting, carpentry, vinyl siding, roofs and some small electrical jobs.

- I have waited tables part time for many years to create extra income for my family. I’m currently a seasonal employee for Emeralds restaurant located at the Ticonderoga Country club. In the past I waited tables and bartend for The View at the Indian Kettles for 3 years till the business closed and at the Northern Lake George Resort.

- My favorite job I ever had was being employed by Madison Handbags; this was more of a hobby to me than a job or business. I truly enjoyed helping people design and create their own personal hand bags; that help express their own personality! this job was very enjoyable job to have and gave been down time in my busy life. I was very proud to be part of such a special company that sells products that were 100% made in America! I also got to model for the company and a photo shoot, when the new catalog came out I was flabbergasted that I was on the front cover; a very honorable moment for me in the company!

- Lastly for the last six years I have been managing a small local business called Decker Hill Service, LLC. He is a mobile diesel mechanic and welder, traveling to the vehicles that have broken down. I have done this part time job on my days off to save money for my husbands retirement. Some of my tasks included, paying all the bills, billing, receiving and entering invoices in to Donlen the company that pays for one of our contracted accounts.
