Work Experience

Office Manager

Sunnyside Dermatology - Sunnyside, OR

February 2022 to November 2022

I worked as an Office Manager at a Dermatology practice that provided completely customizable skincare options for each and every patient. Some of our main treatments aside from skincare appointments included facials, facial peels, laser treatments…etc. Our office offered six treatment packages to accommodate each and every budget and treatment available. My main duties included the following: I oversaw the entire office and assisted in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new employees. I was in charge of overseeing a great deal of the receptionist duties as well as scheduling appointments and making sure we weren’t overbooked. Some days I was just as much a receptionist as the other wonderful women with that job title were. Mostly on extra busy days. We were a team and I loved that so much. Dermatology and skincare has always been a passion of mine and I was thrilled and honored to have had the opportunity for the nine months I did to learn and experience all that I did at a job that I truly loved.

I oversaw verification of key elements and demographics in the account and made any necessary changes. As far as computer duties, I maintained the front office policies and procedures. I was in charge of overseeing the opening and closing procedures of the front office in the maintenance of daily scheduled back up procedures. I observed activities of the front office and front office staff as they assisted patients. I managed the flow of the patients from the point of check in to the point of check out, Supervised the schedule as changes were made and made adjustments and decisions accordingly. When any delays occurred, I advised the staff on how to handle the situation. Worked in conjunction with the provider when a patient arrived late by either asking if the provider would still see the patient or if rescheduling with another provider would be preferable. I supervised the staff in making sure that children, and elderly were helped as well as making certain that reception room was kept neat and orderly. Assistant Manager

Kaiser Permanente - Happy Valley, OR

July 2015 to April 2018

I started at Kaiser working as a receptionist and after twelve months of employment was promoted to assistant manager. My main duties were assisting the general manager in making sure the front and back office (mainly front for me) ran smoothly and that the employees were doing their jobs correctly. This included, checking that chats were properly documented with the correct information, that insurance was ran correctly and patients were charged the correct amounts, invoices…etc. I was responsible in creating the schedules for the employees, selecting potential candidates for receptionist, front desk, scheduling, and medical assistant positions. I then would start narrowing down my top 5 favorites based on experience, resumes, and interview performance. Once I selected my favorite group of applicants, I would then hand them over to my manager for the final interview process and also scheduling the interviews for her. This was my first promotion after years of being a receptionist and was an absolute blessing for me because my main wherever I’ve worked has been to move up and after years of hard work and patience, it finally happened. Hard work pays off!

• Answered questions from Patients over the phone, email, and in person

School Secretary

FCS - Portland, OR

June 2012 to May 2015

Some of my main responsibilities were answering the phone and composing emails to parents inquiring about the school as well as answering any questions and/or concerns from parents who’s children were already enrolled for the year. I was also in charge of the attendance and tardies checklist that had to be submitted every morning by 9am. I took tuition payments in the office or over the phone as well as hot lunch tickets. One of my favorite parts of the job was getting to give families a tour of the campus as well as interacting with parents and children throughout the day. Front Desk Receptionist

Drs. Goodman & Partridge OB - Chandler, AZ

January 2010 to April 2012

This was my first job at a large practice and I really enjoyed it before moving out of state. I mainly worked at the front desk and sometimes at the back desk behind the waiting room area. I was in charge of greeting patients, answering the phones, scheduling, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments as well as answering any questions the patients had. I frequently transferred patients to the triage nurse if there was an emergency and someone needed medical advice. I created new and recurring patient charts and submitted them to the medical assistant to let them know the patient was ready to be seen and had been checked in. Before doing this, I had to make sure that the patient’s insurance was in network and active before scheduling a new patient appointment as well as active patients in case if there had been any changes with their plans. I took payments over the phone as well as in person before checking a patient in for their appointment. A lot of the patients were self pay, so I took those payments as well. I frequently received and sent faxes as well as using the copy machine. Front Desk Receptionist

Green Leaf, Psychology - Gilbert, AZ

November 2009 to September 2010

This was my first job as a receptionist. I worked here for a little under a year. My boss had a private practice in her home and I had my own office that she provided.
