I taught classes under the supervision of Hanshi Julius Thiry, which included instructional positions at WKA Everett Dojo, WKA Kirkland Dojo, Edmonds Community college, Shoreline Community College and Everett Community college. Duties included daily instruction of classes (25 classes per week at the dojo, with additionally classes being taught at the community college), charting student progress, preparing students for promotion when the proper skill level had been accomplished, preparing students for tournament, attending the monthly promotion as a member of the promotion panel, liaison with parents, monthly billing and documentation of payments. Ensuring the cleanliness of the facility and light maintenance.

YMCA of Greater Seattle 9/99-6/02

My Responsibility included instructing 6 classes per week at the Meredith Mathews facility. These classes were affiliated with the Washington Karate Association. Students were taught the WKA curriculum and promoted through the WKA monthly promotion. Additional responsibilities included liaison with YMCA staff and conducting fitness classes as needed.

Northwest School of Karate 6/02-12/11

I was the head instructor and owner; I taught 15 classes per week (additional classes taught off site under various contracts), duties included daily instruction of classes, documenting payments, implementing contracts, grant writing, preparing students for promotion and competition. Attending advanced training seminars and on-going education in the martial arts. Outside contracts included weekly and bi-weekly classes for Seattle Girls School, Powerful Schools (Zion Preparatory Academy), Garfield community Center and Madrona K-8. Madrona K-8 classes included contracts with the PTA as well as YMCA after school program.

International Shito-Ryu Federation California 11/2020 to current

I am currently the head instructor for the International Shito-Ryu Federation California. I instruct traditional Japanese karate and kobudo to a student body of 30. I instruct classes five days per week as well as private lessons by appointment. I supervise one assistant instructor.
