WORK EXPERIENCE

Amaani GA Rwenzori Vocational Development Center (May 2020- April 2021)

Position: Skills development Officer

Duties and responsibilities

•Support the mobilization and selection Processes of the Youth to be enrolled into training. Also, craft motivational strategies that lead to retention of apprentices in training.

•Identify and address gender related challenges affecting trainees

•Support in tracking and tracing of graduates to ascertain their livelihood status of employment as a result of acquired skills. Compile lessons from such activities and present them to the Amaani Ga Rwenzori team.

•Support in the sourcing/ procurement process of training providers including undertaking evaluation of the strength and gaps of training providers and their respective training venues. Initiate appropriate interventions to fill the identified gaps.

•Support in the procurement process of training materials and safety gears.

•Support in the supervision and follow up/ monitoring of the startup program among graduate apprentices. Generically, support apprentices to refine their business ideas. Link graduates/ alumni to relevant government, private sector and other NGO Programs.

•Together with the Vocational Training Coordinator, supervise the implementation of onsite at Amaani Ga Rwenzori and off-site in training enterprises Vocational training including life skills and entrepreneurship training plus coaching and mentorship of trainees.

•Render support to mobilize and to facilitate the assessment and certification processes leading to the issuance of the Workers PAS certificate to apprentices from the Directorate of industrial Training.

•Strengthen the linkage between the training Providers and Amaani Ga Rwenzori for effectiveness of the apprentices Program.

•Represent Amaani Ga Rwenzori in relevant Skills development for as circumstances determine.

•Act as the Vocational Training Coordinator and assume all delegable duties while s/he is away.

Support in fostering compliance of the Amaani Ga Rwenzori! Skills development concept to established Skill Up! Quality Standards.

•In own area of responsibility, maintain a reliable, reliable, retrievable and and quick to access database of applicants, trainees, graduates/alumni, trainers, assessors and contacts of stakeholders. In other areas of shared responsibilities undertake this task together with the Vocational Training Coordinator.

•Foster quality assurance and compliance to the Amaani Ga Rwenzori code of conduct among the Training Providers and their agents, project team and even among the trainees.

•Undertake other Projects duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager inclusive of supporting proposal writing efforts.

Duties and responsibilities

•Manage the FS Fort Portal Programme Database

•Organize and participate in Data collection (This was always done through beneficiary Assessments, collection of success stories, evaluations, setting family development plans with beneficiaries)

•Clean, and enter Data into the Programme Database

•Share with the team reports about the performance of the program using the Programme Database.

•Manage FS and FBC Beneficiary Information (Children) in the Database

•Lead the team in Managing all beneficiary records (This includes information about children and their families both in the Database and in the archives.
