Organisation Strategy:

To provide a clear strategic direction ensuring brand development, revenue generation from new/existing products, financial viability and sustainability as well as evolving Telecel Zimbabwe’s consistent focus on activities and behaviours which influence a positive customer experience and overall improvement of business performance.

Launched the first Mobile Self Service Care application that saw the process automation of subscriber on boarding and products provisioning, digitization of the go to market and sales process and customer query resolve and troubleshooting. This led to the automation of back end activities of customer data capturing and sales leads and attendance thereby increasing work and sales efficiency by 100% month on Month through all digital channels.

In the 5years as Marketing Director, I launched sales and marketing initiatives through social digital platforms by introducing WhatsApp Purchase and Facebook Chat-bots which achieved top of mind awareness of over 60% within 2 months of introduction 80% additional revenue streams through reaching new market segments.

Creation the first High Value Customer retention Department to manage and drive high value customer sales, this led to the development and branding of tailor made HVC products and service, first time trouble shooting, personalised account management for corporates and strategic business and product partnerships on mobile money

Lead the Telecel commercial team that rolled out the first LTE data network and the launch of the operator’s first LTE product and service use cases in 2018.

Led the team to launch prepaid mobile Voice and Data roaming to cover 100% of the world’s outbound roaming partners, and launched the first roaming bundles in southern Africa.

Led the team that set up mobile financial services inter-operability architecture for Telecel Mobile Money and implementation on the national core switch.

Launched new and Innovative Mobile Finance products and Services through Strategic Partnerships and Revenue Sharing Model which saw the launch of the first mobile Micro Insurance product, Virtual Credit Cards, Micro-lending product in partnership with a bank, First open API Mobile Fintech in the country to local fin- tech solution developers and payment aggregators.

Lead the commercial team to develop and launch the first Home Wi-Fi LTE for Small office and Home office users and E-Learning platform and launch the metro Wi-Fi Offload service.

Led the team that first implemented the mobile money interoperability integration in Zimbabwe, which resulted in incremental revenues.

Part of the team that championed open APIs and integration of 3rd party payment of the mobile money payment gateway services and service delivery platform.

Led the development and launch of the first Telecel Products and services Mobile application which drove e-channel subscriber migration by 40% in the first week of launch and led to increase of product purchase through mobile application saving cost of sale and a positive increase in gross margin. Led Marketing Department including Business Planning & Strategy, Consumer Segments, Business Intelligence, Brand & Communications, Product & Innovation and Mobile Money. Also supported strategy development for Consumer Sales & Distribution and the Enterprise Business Unit.

Led the team that launched the first Campaign Management and CRM system on the network which saw churn reduction and increased personalised user engagement on the network.

Launched the first multiply product which converged Data, voice and SMS.

Part of the commercial team that launched the first LTE data use cases on PCRF on the network which saw both data traffic and revenue growth increase.

Led the Product team that successfully launched the first Dynamic Tariffing System

(DTS) in Zimbabwe and in the African Market in 2015 themed buddy Zone.

Part of the team that created converged products with other departments and multiple value propositions and marketing campaigns (both conventional & digital) for Ecocash, Econet Broadband and Buddie that have been successfully implemented. Increase digital channels airtime sales grew Data and VAS revenue by 20% YOY to contribute 70% of total revenue, grew total subscribers by 5% YOY and maintained a 0.5% growth in H1 year ending 2015

Zain S.Sudan - Telecommunications

Developed a Sales and Marketing team from ground up through recruitment and training of the Zain stuff to support the implementation of a Route to Market strategy which birthed an effective distribution of airtime and sim cards through new channels.

Established a commercial team which Increased Zain’s commercial revenue by 20% through introduction of new product revenue streams and increase gross additions to the network.

Successfully coordinated the setting up of new distribution network through a Route to Market system in 8 regions within S.Sudan.

Launch the first mobile digital Sim Registration platform in South Sudan which a 30% increase in subscriber addition in the first quarter of implementation and a global increase in market share.

Implemented products and services commercial structure and drafted strategic roadmap and budget for Zain Telecoms S.Sudan marketing and sales and distribution department.

Increased airtime sales by 20% Month on Month through the newly established Route to Market Distribution Channels.

Increase new roaming partners opening by 10% MoM and increase international A2P revenue by 40% which grew total roaming portfolio revenue by 15% in my first year.
