Objective:

My work objective is to acquire a full time position, which will utilize my previous experiences and knowledge in a way, which will benefit both the company and its clients. I would like to be a part of a team who is goal oriented and has the ability to enhance each other’s strengths, capabilities, and values. Part of my career objective is to continue working in one or all of these areas: accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, customer service, and/or sales. I am especially open to exploring and learning new avenues which can build on my past knowledge and experiences.

Education:

My computer knowledge was self-taught. I started learning about computers while I was still in high school. I learned basic programming by reading programming manuals. I wrote my first program when I was fourteen years old. Since then, I have written and sold several different programs. I continue to build on my knowledge by staying current with new versions of programming.

My managerial skills were primarily acquired through on the job training. Most of the positions I have held have been in upper management therefore I have gained a lot of managerial knowledge by working closely with owners and other upper management personnel. I have also attended different seminars, which focused on management, sales, and collections.

IT Technician, Office Manager – Sales Manager

Responsibilities: Build and repair computers and customer sales and business to business sales. Buy all parts to custom build computers. Do quotes for businesses as well as retail customers.

Performed various computer related consults, which included the creation of database programs that were tailored for specific customer needs. Worked closely with clients and showed them how to operate the software, and incorporated their input into the software design. Responsibilities also included the repair and building of new and used computers.

Experience: Network conversion, web, email, and ftp server installation and management on a TCP/IP infrastructure.

Hired at Southeastern Meats in November 1998 to convert the current system (Basic 4) to a year 2000 complaint system (Clarion software). Wrote a conversion package to convert the software to Clarion. Converted the payroll to Abra software package. Installed a Windows NT 4.0 server to replace the Basic 4 server and established the network. Supervised the installation of the phone system. Installed new software on all computers and laptops and trained the employees on its basic use. Installed and maintained a web server and developed web pages. Wrote various reports and applications in Microsoft Access for inventory control and reports and applications for the accounting department. I supervised phone programming on phone system. I also maintained all printers and computers, and built new computers as needed.

Began as an Assistant Manager in 1988 and performed the following:

Supervision of store and customers’ repairs, customer transactions, ordered inventory (including customer sales and special ordering), and performed minor jewelry repair.

Promoted to Store Manager in Bessemer in 1990. Managed the store for two years and then was promoted to the home office as Collection Manager, supervising as many as 24 collectors. Filed Bankruptcy claims and set goals and bonuses for each collector and monitored their progress. Promoted to MIS Manager and Accounts Receivable Manager, supervising a Unix mainframe with 87 users, including setting up terminals and printers for the stores and the home office and creating reports for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for eight retail stores’ computers comprised of two Data General Terminals and printers, and two computers for printing customer contracts. Built and maintained 16 of these type computers, two in each retail store as well as installed computer cable for terminals and network. Programmed the phones in the stores and the home office and was also in charge of all the maintenance of the store credit machines and the fax machines. Setup an inventory system using Southware.

Store Manager

Began employment as a salesman, and then was promoted to assistant manager then store manager. Responsibilities included sales, maintaining inventory, hiring, reporting payroll hours, producing weekly schedules, and customer relations.
