EXPERIENCE

LG Business Research, a think tank of LG, Seoul, South Korea 2014 ~ Present Data Analyst Strategist

Through data analytics and the traditional consulting methodology, I solve a wide range of business issues at LG and report the insights to the top management in a simple and intelligible way.

• Forecast of the probability of fundraising of startups: I built a machine learning model that predicted the fundraising success of LG in-house startups with 90% accuracy, including a forecast of an 80% probability of funding success for the "Shoe-styler" startup that subsequently secured $50 million in investment, fueling the company's growth.

• Research on Generation Z: I Investigated 3,000 samples of Generation Z to explore their consumption patterns and unmet needs. Combined analytic research methodologies were applied for this project; surveys, FGIs, and benchmark studies as qualitative research; an unsupervised clustering technique as quantitative research. Based on the results, LG decided to focus on the gaming industry as a new business opportunity, and launched a wide range of gaming gear, named "Ultra Gear”.

• Forecast of the semiconductor industry supply and demand: I created a predictive model that identifies the timing of the normalization of the semiconductor market, which has been experiencing supply- demand imbalances due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This model provided LG with valuable insights that allowed the company to optimize its $5.3 billion semiconductor procurement plan.

• Forecast of the market demand for the US home appliance market: To predict the market demand for home appliances in the USA, I conducted ARIMA analysis, one of the statistical times series analysis models. As for the qualitative analysis, I facilitated 20+ FGIs and a survey of 2,000 US consumers. Based on the results of this analysis, LG decided to build plantations in Tennessee in 2019. • Consumer research for content development: By regularly conducting in-depth consumer research on a sample of one million viewers, I provided market insights into emerging consumer needs and market trends in the media industry. Several of my research contributed directly to the production of award- winning content, such as the 2012 hit "Heaven in my neighborhood”.

• Corporate consolidation management between subsidiaries: As a key participant in a $100 million M&A project involving four local stations as part of a larger corporate restructuring initiative, I led a benchmark study on global media companies, providing valuable insights that enabled the unified company to innovate its business model and maintain its competitive edge. Korea Telecommunications(KT), Seoul, South Korea

Market Researcher Product Manager

Through intensive research into the unique pain points experienced by SMEs, I devised a comprehensive range of IT solutions tailored to their specific needs. Additionally, I spearheaded strategic marketing activities aimed at creating an initial market for these products.

• B2B IT solution marketing planning: In recognition of my role in driving a 20% increase in the annual sales of the SMEs-focused IT solution business, I was honored as the company's top employee in 2008. EDUCATION
