Little Rock, AR and Malvern, AR December 2012- December 2014 This job title was at Baptist Medical Center in Malvern. I was a Patient Rep in the Emergency Room and for the entire hospital. As a Patient Rep, my job duties included tasks such as;
• Checking patients in for their scheduled surgeries and procedures
• Making sure all of the patients' information in their electronic chart is correct and up to date
• Verifying insurances and checking for copays
• Obtaining authorizations or pre-certifications for non-patient labs and future procedures
• Answering internal and external phone calls for the unit and the entire hospital
• Keep track of each patient's family members and/or friends that come with them for their ER visit or their hospital visit and give them updates!
• Collect any balance that is still pending on the patients account or their ER copays
• Pre-admit any patient for the next scheduled day that has not already been done

Medical Professions Education Completion:
In this course, over a two school year period, students are taught a wide variety of a mix of medical skills, medical terminology, pharmacology, and medical history at National Park Community College while also taking core classes back at their high school.
Within this course I achieved;
• CPR and First Aid certification for 2010-2011 and 2011-2012
• Becoming an active member in the HOSA organization (Health Occupation Students of America)
• Entering and competed in the HOSA state wide competition in the nurse assisting category.
• Learning an abundance of medical terminology, hands on patient skills, medical history, pharmacology, and general skills, as in taking vitals.
• Shadowing in both hospitals in our town in multiple departments in each of them. For example: (L & D, Nursery, NICU, ICU, Respiratory, Physical Therapy, Lab, Radiology, Surgery, Hyperbaric Wound Center, E.R., and Ambulance (EMT).
• Many hours of community service. For example: (Escorting and representation of our association with other students at the annual Barron's Ball, Food Drives, Car Washes, being a "patient" in the emergency preparedness plan for the hospital and playing out an injury in a natural disaster. Education
