ARTIST STATEMENT

I am glad to be showing here at the Howson Gallery at Judson Park. My artwork displayed in Overlook Dining Room and Howson Space covers oil paintings, acrylic paintings, mixed media, and linocut prints spanning 30 years as an artist living in the greater Cleveland area, primarily Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

I received my artistic training from the Cleveland Institute of Art and Cleveland State University. My artwork is in public and private collections throughout Cleveland, Ohio.

I work at the Cleveland Museum of Art in protection services. I have worked in education, organized numerous staff art shows, have written art programming and have demonstrated at the museum.

I am interested in expression through color and line, giving the viewer lead-ins to my art with room for the viewer to interpret and be inspired. The subject matter in my work ranges from nature based themes to still life with an interest in imagery that starts in reality and moves into the dream world and imagination.
