● Responsible for the revenue and profit growth from the bank’s credit activities while monitoring and managing credit risks to ensure consistency with the organization's risk appetite.

● Managed a team of credit underwriters with responsibility for all analytical functions relating to Treasury Counterparties ( Bonds, FX Forwards, SWAPS, Repos, DVP/RVP) and all loans including but not limited to Security Secured, Trade Finance, Asset Based,CRE and C&I loans.

● Evaluated and monitored risk exposure, terms and limits of credit facilities for a $2 Billion security based loan portfolio for international and domestic ultra- high net worth clients.

● Reviewed and negotiated syndicated loans with agent banks and keep abreast of transactions posted via Syndtrak, DebtX or Intralinks. Oversaw the underwriting of new credit requests and the preparation of credit facility reports for credit committee approval.

● Interacted with Commercial Loan Officers to establish appropriate loan structure consistent with prescribed credit policies, underwriting guidelines and general best practices giving consideration to the risk elements inherent in the loan purpose.

● Structured commercial loan requests based on client profile and needs (i.e., revolving lines of credit, term loans, demand loans, standby letters of credit, and cash reserves). Provided ongoing credit oversight and portfolio management of the $1.1 Billion residential and commercial real estate loan portfolio.

● Performed annual /quarterly reviews of existing Treasury Counterparties (10-K,10-Q analysis) and loans by requesting and analyzing updated financial information (leases, rent rolls, borrowing base certificates, covenant certificates for syndicated loans, personal and corporate financial statements, personal and corporate tax returns, Dun & Bradstreet reports, Tri merge credit reports).

● Interacted with high-net-worth customers, sales team and administrative staff to obtain timely and complete financial information. Established, accurately monitored and adjusted borrower’s credit risk ratings as determined by credit reviews. Requested and reviewed appraisal reports, engineering reports and environmental reports (phase 1) for CRE loans.

● Reviewed legal documentation (Commitment Letters, Notes, Mortgages, Assignment of Leases and Rents, Subordination Non-disturbance and Attornment, Agreements, Estoppels, Personal and Corporate Guarantees to ensure completeness and liaised with external legal counsel on outstanding issues prior to closing.

● Performed quarterly reviews of the non-performing loan portfolio and conduct analysis (using ASC 450-20 and/ or ASC 310-10) of these loans for the purpose of allocating the appropriate loan loss reserves. Assisted in recommending, updating and writing of departmental Credit Policies. In the absence of the Department Head acted as the point person for the regulatory audit of the Bank’s loan portfolio by the OCC, FRB, internal and external auditors.

● Responsible for the quarterly calculation of the bank’s allocation to the Allowance for Loan and Lease Loss Reserves (ALLL). Oversaw the preparation of Credit Committee minutes for the bi- monthly Board of Directors review.

● Responsible for the analysis of Derivative Counterparties (SWAPS and FX FORWARDS) and setting of Investment Limits with various Treasury counterparties for the Placement of bank deposits, purchase of Corporate or Municipal Bonds (General Obligations or Revenue Bonds).

Washington Mutual Bank Mortgage Credit Analyst / Senior Loan Underwriter November 2002 – October 2006

● Underwrote conforming to super jumbo loans (A and Alt-A) that required non-delegated underwriting review of moderate to high complexity.

● Analyzed all types of credit and collateral information pertaining to diverse loan types. Performed credit analysis of loan components for newly originated 1- 4 family residential and commercial mixed use properties submitted by brokers, including applicant's credit, sources of income including detailed analysis of personal and business tax returns, types of property including coops and condos, types of loan including 1031 exchanges and cross collateralization, assets, stream of bank deposits and debt to income ratios.

● Analyzed risk factors along with the presence of compensating factors that mitigated risk to the bank and investors, and structured transactions accordingly. Independently negotiated acceptable levels of loan risk on individual loans with brokers, account managers and risk management.
