I helped answer the telephone calls, and other reception duties to assist the main receptionist. I was hired to copy and assemble tax returns, proofread and edit financial reports, assist with payroll as needed, answer other employees’ computer software questions, supervise 2-3 employees, use all types of office equipment. The position’s duties grew along with my ability to assist auditors in the field, and help with IT work. After nearly 20 years, I was let go from this position due to personal family and health reasons which have since been resolved.

I was hired by Vital Statistics right after high school graduation. I began working as a Vital Statistics cashier clerk immediately after high school and continued until moving away for two years and working at my hometown grade school as Secretary. Ultimately, I moved back to Topeka and resumed my old position at Vital Statistics, with several more duties than before.
