Over and above that, I am a dedicated, persevering, and dynamic practising Urban and Regional Planner who have interacted with several professionals and traversed multiple opportunities and disruptions within and outside Botswana as far as planning and research are concerned. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
July 2021 – to date: Urban Planner/Strategic Management &Performance Improvement Over and above the town planning responsibilities that includes quality assurance on the preparation and implementation of spatial development plans, development control, and preparation of spatial plans, project management functions and evaluation of tenders. I am responsible for performance improvement and coordination within the Department which includes preparation of Annual Performance Plans, Performance Agreement, Cascading of National, and Ministry (of Lands and Water Affairs) Strategy to Departmental level. The specific tasks comprise of the following;
Preparation and implementation of the Department Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
Evaluate Departmental performances and recommend improvements to achieve operational and financial goals.
Develop and implement performance improvement initiatives to meet the Department's objectives.
Revise policies and procedures and ensure that the staff follows them.
Review existing programs and recommend improvements.
Address performance related queries and concerns in a timely fashion.
Assess risks and challenges and develop mitigation plans.
Monitor performances and generate periodic performance reports for management review.
Conduct orientations and trainings to new employees with regard to what output is expected from them.
Identify knowledge gaps and recommended educational trainings for professional growth.
Facilitate for staff capacity building about business procedures and risk management policies.
Analyse root causes of performance issues and suggest corrective actions.
Prepared the DTCP Annual Performance Plan and guiding implementation of sectoral strategies.
