Duties: Medical receptionist:

Excellent phone technique, arrangement of appointments, assisting patients with forms, making them feel comfortable and reassured whilst maintaining confidentiality, folder preparation, invoicing and receipt of payments, updating and filing of patient folders.

Dealing with couriers and post: both receiving and sending parcels, documents and mail.

Arranging referrals, medical aid authorisations, sample collections etc

Responsible for keeping office supplies at requisite levels, procuring as necessary.

Keeping reception area neat

Administration duties:

Trusted to handle several hundred thousand Rand in cash daily.

Relied upon to keep track of Drs grants, trial patient information, transportation payments, staff leave and asset register on excel spreadsheets.

Online banking payments – foreign & local.

Managed timeous servicing, maintenance and licensing of 7company vehicles.

Weekly stock-take, daily cash-up and procurement for coffee bar.

Conference coordinator:

Single-handedly successfully facilitated ALL conferences/workshops/meetings held at the UCT Lung Institute Conference Centre from 2001 to 2020.

Responsible for everything from initial enquiry and reservation of venue through logistics queries, set-up, ordering and timeous serving of catering to end of event and clearing.

Arrangement of the Institute’s10th and 15th anniversary celebrations in house as well as annual staff functions at outside venues.
