Personal Reference for Mercedes Mendoza Dear Sirs or Madam Vynckier Enclosure Systems - Houston, TX
August 2009 to April 2021
My name is Robert Davey and I go by Bert. From July 2009 through April 2021, I was the President and CEO of
Vynckier Enclosure Systems, Inc. of Houston, Texas. I left my position when our business was sold in April 2021. Vynckier manufactured and changed a line of nonmetallic enclosures used by many OEMs to house their components away from water, dust, and other environmental hazards. One of our major manufacturing processes was our molding operations. This process involved heating by steam to 300 degrees F one of 36 molds that were placed into one of eight separate presses with tonnage from 300 to 1,000 tons. A specific quantity of a fibreglass infused raw material called SMC was then placed into the heated mold for about three minutes and out came a base or a cover of an enclosure. The manufacturing processes were very detailed with exacting criteria to keep a high quality of enclosure. All of this is done near presses which had molds heated to 300 degrees F. Mercedes kept all the equipment to be in good working order including troubleshooting, cleaning the molds, and moving materials. In addition, Mercedes scheduled time and managed the personnel for all the hourly wage molders. Mercedes' work was always first rate. As CEO, I could rely on Mercedes to keep the equipment in fine working order and help Vynckier to continuously produce the highest quality enclosures in the business. I am happy to highly recommend Mercedes for employment. She would be an outstanding addition to any organisation. Should you have any questions or need any other information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Robert M. Davey

During March & April of 2022, I had the opportunity to visit the former Vynckier Enclosure Systems facility in Houston TX. It had been purchased by nVent Inc, in April of 2021. After a year’s ownership, nVent Management was interested in my evaluation of the Houston facility’s maintenance requirements. At that time, When nVent Inc purchased the company in 2021, Mercedes was working as the Manager production / Machine Maintenance in their Heavy Press Molding Department. Per our policy, related members of the same family were not allowed to work under familial leadership, so we asked Mercedes, based on her excellent report with our maintenance contractors, if she would accept the newly created Facility coordinator/maintenance facility! Mercedes had worked her way up through the press room in a traditionally male dominated industry, by possessing a disciplined edge, quick mind and relentless work ethic. In confirmation, the contractors I spoke with, were impressed with everything she had accomplished, during those previous 13 years as a Manager production / Machine Maintenance. Now in her new Facility coordinator/maintenance facility position, without a mentor, Mercedes organised the maintenance office, and over time, developed a spare parts inventory. These parts were made available to contractors, but were often installed on repairs she was able to accomplish herself. While I was there, Mercedes was frequently pulled into production by the team to provide some much needed training for our employees and to gleam her operational expertise. Throughout my stay, I could not match her stamina, I found her workmanship to be excellent, and noticed how quickly she picked up on new concepts. In my opinion, Mercedes would be a smart addition to any manufacturing operation.
