Installed, configured, and maintained the Vanguard Configuration Manager (VCM) on all IBM LPARs. Collaborate with the Application and GSS personnel to ensure entries are entered accurately to conform to the current IRS / FISMA guidelines, IRS IRMs, Treasury, 0MB, and other policies, directives, and regulations. Also ensured that all VCM checks were up to data and within a valid / current timeframe. Worked with IRS customers / stakeholders to resolve complex problems for the customers/stakeholders; identify problems and work with various units to address issues appropriately and timely.

Accomplishments

Implemented VCM across 11 Masterfile, 6 GDPS, and 6 IAP LPARs.

Worked with the 10 groups, across IRS, to establish ownership of the 332 VCM and 16 DB2 checks.

Created monthly batch JCL jobs, stored on each LPAR within Control-M, for the execution of the VCM checks, and for the batch execution of the VCM report jobs. Upon completion of each report job, the report output is sent to the VCM Share Point for storage and review. On the VCM Share Point, folders were created for each of the 10 groups for storage of the monthly reports to allow the groups easy access to their reports.

As part of the VCM Report process Summary Reports were also created and sent to the VCM Share Point, which allowed managers and support personal a way to get a snapshot of each LPAR, by reviewing a Summary Report, as opposed to looking at just the finding reports. This was an Excel spreadsheet providing management a snapshot of each monthly run, which provided a snapshot in a spreadsheet listing each VCM check for every LPAR. This Excel Summary spreadsheet report provides a summary of the status to each VCM check, indicating the number of Finding and errors.

Serve as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO); provide guidance to the ISSO Manager and assist the IRS GSS Authorizing Official (AO), business units, and staff with their day-to-day security related responsibilities to ensure FISMA compliance.
