SMX at Vitro - Berea, KY
July 2021 to August 2021
Vitro is an Auto Glass manufacturer. As a material handler, it was my responsibility to move racks of glass; such as windshields, back windows, door windows, etc. to the lines where glass and vinyl were sandwiched together and heated to increase strength and stability. Great care was necessary when stacking racks or placing full or empty racks on turn tables as needed. Safety was of utmost importance due to the large amount of pedestrian workers. I was responsible for ensuring that I loaded the correct part numbers and date codes on turn tables and extreme caution had to be used while doing so because workers often were not paying attention and could have very easily been injured. I really enjoyed the job but was let go when I had become ill after my second COVID vaccination, even with doctor notes. Warehouse Associate (Temp)
Trancy Logistics America - Lexington, KY
June 2021 to July 2021
I had applied for a forklift operator position, and was under the impression that I was hired for that role. However, I was never given the opportunity as the shift supervisor decided the position was not such a good fit for me as for a man and decided he preferred that I bundle pallets and scan and label them. I felt that this was not fair and submitted my 2 weeks notice when I realized I would not get any opportunity to prove my skills as a forklift operator.
