• Continued to lead production with the addition of a Production Manager.

• Restructured Bulk oils department reducing overhead and increasing effective labor. Increased thruput from an average of 240k to 312k gal per day (30% increase).

• Restructured warehousing operations redeploying existing leader to a more focused role, recruited new talent and reorganized warehouse operations.

Director of Manufacturing and Engineering: Reporting to the company President 2013 - 2021

• Designed and implemented bulk tote and drum filling machine with unique process integration.

• Implemented two additional stretch PET blow molders to meet company goals of vertical integration and lower cost.

• Design built and implemented inline blending system. Previously a bulk batching process which we replaced with a metered direct feed system to allow for full flexibility in making blends which effective increased storage capacity.

• Design, implementation, and management of construction and build-out. Addition of 27 storage silos and 4 rail spurs for an increase of storage capacity of 48% and 50% increase in rail capacity. Including all process piping, automated control and building addition / modifications, for $16MM investment.

• Upgraded large/food service filling line to increase output by 33% as well as more accuracy in filling (less giveaway).

• Explored vertical integration by moving from purchase to make scenario by implementing a PET blow directly connected to a production line for an 18-month payback (deployment of new technology for the company).

• Addition of a $2MM hybrid bottling line to respond to increased demand in two of our high growth packaging configuration categories (business growth).

• Replaced 2 old palletizers, which were dedicated to 2 lines and were the bottleneck of these lines, alternatively two new high-level, high-speed palletizers centrally located to service 4 lines. The cost was $2.5MM but increased output on some lines while reducing physical labor on others.

• Implemented a new packaging configuration in the form of a bag-In-Box line. (New business opportunity).

• Purchased and implemented a tote (IBC) washing machine. We have returnable totes which needed to be washed. Over time the needs / expectations for cleanliness and output have increased thus precipitating the need for a washing machine.

• Specified and installed an automated filling line for Drums and totes. This decreased labor by integrating some of the operations and increasing filling accuracy (reduce giveaway).

• Performed cost benefit analysis on many potential opportunities to reduce cost, increase output or reduce labor. We take a holistic approach to project design, justification, and implementation. There are many dimensions and benefits to change

• Selected and implementing maintenance CMMS to better manage maintenance resources, parts, and labor.

• Implemented 5S, Kanban, Kazan, SMED, work instructions, standard work, for increased output and consistency in results.

• Over the course of 9 years reduced defects, doubled facility output, and increased equipment OEE from 50% to 70%.
