More than thirty years mechanical design experience, including eight years project management and mechanical engineering experience.
Extensive experience on eight different CAD systems (Solid Edge, Solid Works, Autodesk Inventor, Micro CADAM, CADRA, NX3, 8 and 12, and Unigraphics),
Varied engineering experience in several different areas of design, from aircraft and precision tooling to truck body to pharmaceutical, industrial and consumer products.
Design of custom tooling and fixturing for robotic applications.
Pneumatic and sensoring systems design required for safe and efficient machine operation.
Thorough understanding of sheet metal and structural component design.
Experience in the creation and administration of drafting, design and tolerancing standards and manufacturing systems for various industries.

5/2/2022-Present HDT Expeditionary Systems-Contract Responsible for design, drafting, BOM generation for machinery and components for an Air Force missile transportation system. All work is done on NX-12 CAD software to Military and company standards
8/28/2021-5-2-22 Schlumberger Company-Contract Responsible for design, drafting, BOM generation for machinery and components for oilfield equipment. Work done using Solid Works primarily and also Solid Edge CAD software.

Field Engineer-Responsible for proper design, erection and installation of structural steel, conveyors and other equipment pertaining to a large automated high-speed sorting facility for a large parcel delivery service company. Duties include liaison with subcontractors and DCI engineering and project management personnel, formulating solutions to problems that occur during the course of assembly and installation. All work was done using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2018, Autodesk Navisworks and AutoCAD.

Work was completed using Solid Edge ST5 and NX 8.5. Also instructed other engineering personnel in the proper use of Solid Edge ST5, as they were in transition from NX.

Tooling Design Engineer- Design tooling for CNC high-speed tube and pipe bending equipment, primarily used by tier 2 automotive suppliers. Design process includes order evaluation and interpretation, actual design of tooling components, and follow up with shop, customer service reps and purchasing.
4/2014-11/14/2014 Littleford Day Inc.-Contract
R&D Engineer- Design equipment for product test lab, which tests processes and materials for customers, enabling them to better choose industrial mixers for purchase. Design tooling and other equipment relating to mixers both assigned to lab and for customers. This includes specialized tooling, prototypes for customer tests as well as new product design, occasionally requiring travel to customer’s site to evaluate their need. Due to large differences in temperature and pressure required for customer processes, units are designed to ASME pressure vessel standards and are certified as such.
10/2013-4/2014 Yaskawa Motoman Robotics-Contract
Senior Design Specialist – Designed equipment and apparatus relating to the application of robotic assembly and welding for automated assembly lines, including end tooling and required electrical and gas supply line routing. All work done using Solid ST6 to appropriate company and industry standards.
2/2013-9/2013 CH2M Hill-Contract
Mechanical Design Specialist III - Designed Machines and structures related to high-speed, high –temperature apparatus for a large consumer products corporation. This included 3-D models, finished drawings and bills of material. Responsible for all facets of design including material selection, assembly methods, drive, piping and pneumatic design, sensors, and 3-D layout and details. Oversaw drafters and other designers in relation to the designs. All work done using GD&T to company and customer standards using Solid Edge ST2 and ST4 CAD Software and customer’s proprietary Product Life Cycle software.
11/2012-01/2013 L3 FOS-Contract
Mechanical Designer III – Designed parts and assemblies of detonator fuses for defense industry, whose customers included both domestic and foreign nations. This included 3-D models, finished drawings and bills of material. Drawings included printed wiring board and BOM updates as well as individual parts and assemblies. Finished drawings included extensive GD&T dimensions and tolerances. All work was done to L3 FOS and Military specifications applicable to customer’s nation, within U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) framework. Work was accomplished using Solid Edge ST4 CAD software.
03/2012-09/2012 Timken Company-Contract
Mechanical Designer - Designed jigs, fixtures and tooling for large bearing manufacturer. Responsible, from concept through layout, design and details of parts and assemblies for plant. These items include tooling for robots on shop floor, material handling assemblies and components, work holding, and transfer fixtures and various tooling components used in CNC controlled equipment used throughout the plant.
Used Unigraphics NX3 CAD software, which I learned on the job within the first week of the assignment.
2/1995-7/2011 Mickey Truck Bodies, Inc.
Engineer, Emergency and Specialty Vehicles - Upon promotion, additional responsibilities included increased responsibility and decision-making authority concerning the Emergency Vehicle and Specialty Vehicle production lines. These responsibilities included problem-solving relating to the production line as well as product and method improvement and new product design. Designed an Emergency Vehicle door corner casting system that reduced cost, increased strength, and improved assembly of door panels and
jambs. As Engineer, other designers and drafters reported to me. Also served as FEA administrator using ANSYS software, assisting engineers in maintaining the system as well as aiding them setting up models for analysis.
Engineering Technician - Responsible for Corporate Engineering drafting standards and practices, wrote Corporate Drafting Manual, conceived and established a drawing number assignment system, and oversaw all drafting work. Responsibilities included design of Emergency Vehicles for Value-Added Reseller from
customer's purchase order through design of structure, layout and detail drawing, and bill of materials for fabrication and assembly shops. All work performed was in accordance with local, State and Federal specifications. In charge of Engineering Department PCs and computer equipment. Acted as engineering liaison to Corporate IT Manager, responsible for specifying, recommending and purchasing computer equipment and peripherals for Engineering Department, as well as installing new equipment for Engineering Department and troubleshooting that equipment. I oversaw implementation of new 3D CAD
system (Solid Edge) and changeover from old CAD system (Micro CADAM). Responsible for file maintenance and drawing archive, and purchased and maintained peripherals and supplies for Engineering
Department. Responsible for training of all new personnel in basic engineering and drafting room practices, computer and software operation, and CAD instruction. Assisted non-engineering personnel with computer issues as a courtesy to IT Manager.
10/1990-2/1995-Chase-Logeman Corporation
Lead Designer - Responsible for design of liquid filling, stoppering, capping, plugging and tray loading machines for the pharmaceutical industry, supervising the work of two other designers. Created a tray loading adapter that eliminated the need for a robot to perform the task. Also updated the standard tray loading shuttle table, replacing a complicated system of motors and swing arms with one rodless air cylinder, saving several hundred dollars per machine.
