Statement of Teaching Philosophy
I am an avid, lifelong learner and have worked with several teachers that have inspired and motivated me to pursue a career in education. Competent and empowered educators care for each of their students as individuals and in their goals. Educators learn, listen, plan and implement steps to help students reach their objectives. I implement a student-centered style in my classroom; involving the student in their learning to give them practice and experience in critical thinking and problem solving skill development. Asking open-ended questions to exemplify how to think critically and develop problem solving techniques contributes to student success in all academic subjects extending to their personal and professional goals. Relating a topic and discussing it with familiar aspects of a student’s everyday life and culture allows them to understand academic text materials in real-life application. As an educator, students will see my enthusiasm for the subjects that I teach in my responses, feedback, and regular presence. My interest in learning opportunities is visible in educational techniques I employ to maintain the highest quality experience for the learner. As a profession, education is constantly evolving and good instructors are fluid. We embrace change that aids in the teaching and learning process. Developing an online culture within my course by contributing as a respectful, positive, and active role model students are encouraged to mirror the instructor. Encouraging the students to communicate with one another and my sharing personal interests in examples assists the students in becoming part of the course culture, not just a student logging in to post their necessary assignments. Students know how important they are to me because they experience fast, accurate responses, thorough feedback, and my online presence in the course discussions and messages. Student-centered teaching helps maintain the focus of adult learners by combining real world application with theory, effective questions, appropriate level learning activities, and pertinent feedback at the same time, the learners stay engaged with the content. An instructor exemplifies a positive role model in the classroom and community. Encouraging comments and optimistic feedback promotes self-esteem and encourages the students to participate and replicate the behaviors necessary to succeed in my courses. Personal Attributes

Detail oriented professional with extensive experience providing security and office support, with a strong desire to apply this commitment and dedication to education. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on effectively managing customer needs and expectations.
Expertise in psychology, with the desire and knowledge to share my experiences with students. Teaching and Professional Education Experience
