JOB SUMMARY
Structural Firefighter
Responds to all-hazard emergencies and public service calls including commercial and residential structure fires, vehicle fires and performs extrication. Deploys suppression tactics and strategies to contain and control chemical spills, oil and hazardous materials incidents, radiological incidents, technological accidents, and acts of terrorism. Responds to neighboring forests, cities, and fire districts as an automatic aid and mutual aid resource during wildland urban interface assignments. Mentor new firefighters surrounding job duties and responsibilities during fire, medical, and rescue scenes.
Wildland Team
Teaches Wildland Medical Provider course for local, state, and regional firefighters. Maintains department wildland supply cache and oversees receiving and distribution of personal protective equipment. Ensures wildland medical teams and Rapid Extraction Module support crew (REMS) readiness and assists with any dispatch and on-assignment needs. Continually seeks improvement within the wildland program by re-evaluating response to high-risk fire and aviation accidents. Paramedic
