This company is a strictly CNC Swiss Style Lathe manufacturer job shop, which is where most of my experience entails. It's also where I feel most comfortable. My responsibility involves programming new parts and revising existing programs to be more efficient. Setting up and proving out new programs and providing 1st Article. Generate, maintain, and update setup sheets. Provide individual tool job boxes for each job and inspect and return finished tools after completed jobs. This company was a small family owned job shop with customers located throughout the United States, with Boeing as it’s biggest and longest costumer. I manage older with FUNUC controllers. Being such a small shop we all had to lookout for each other both in safety and in quality. I also had to get a crash course in inspection above the normal daily routine by using and operating a larger than normal CMM. Scrap is a very important quality with smaller shops and every part must be within the print specification to keep the profit margin favorable. CNC Swiss Style Lathe Machinist

Fabricate a large amount of turn part components from 316, 416, 420, 4140, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Titanium, and 01 Tool Steel round stock to support the numerous variety of different models of knives that Benchmade has to offer. I am responsible for all aspects regarding the production of components necessary for the success Benchmade has experience. Which involves programming, setting up, and operating two SR-16 Star Swiss Style Lathes, and two Citizen L12 and L16 series Swiss Style Lathes. To be able to support the large quantity knifes produce everyday. I have a very good understanding of programming, and I have been programming for the turn parts department sense July of 2010. I took responsibility for all ordering of the tooling and bar stock to keep all four lathes running at 96%. My first responsible is to fill orders with our high demand parts distributors located throughout the Pacific Northwest with replacement parts from a number of manufactures located all over the U.S. I receive a great deal of knowledge and experience working with the detail measurements (standard & metric) surrounding the many different sizes and specifications. The ability to pay close attention to detail was necessary to provide quality customer service. On constant and regular bases, shipment of product would arrive which involves being inventory for accountability, and then placed in its proper location.
