Vegetation Supervisor, January 2016-Present

As Entergy Arkansas’ Vegetation Supervisor, I am responsible for coordination all vegetation needs for distribution for Entergy AR. This includes the oversight and management of approx. 420 vegetation contract resources, 12 Distribution Operations Coordinators and 3 contract foresters. The vegetation management group is responsible for the safety of ourselves and our team. We create and manage the vegetation plans set forth annually to maintain cycle trimming maintenance within budget limits given. We also patrol and schedule contractors as needed for hazard tree removal along with any other vegetation needs that may develop including reclaiming ROW and clearing for new construction. Emergency procedure plans are activated when restoration is necessary. We work closely with Supply Chain to manage contracts and bid work among the vegetation contractors. We also work closely with our customers (internal and external) including our public service commissions to ensure the best customer service possible. Current annual budget responsibility is >$30m.

Sr. Analyst, May 2004 – April 2013

I accepted a Sr. Analyst position with Entergy's System Operations Center (SOC). This was my first job in the Transmission business unit. My first task given was to learn and begin performing the functions of the Next Day Business Office (NDO). This involved interacting with transmission marketers by accepting and denying transmission tags and reservations. During this time Entergy's Reliability Coordinator function moved to an ICT and reservation were no longer an NDO function. In 2006 I was moved out of the NDO and into operations support to assist with compliance. I became the administrator of the SOC procedure database where the SOC has over 120 active procedures. I have been very involved in the preparation of 3 NERC audits. I coordinated with subject matter experts for each the reliability standard to prepare the Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets (RSAWs). I worked closely with Transmission Business Operations, Compliance, Regulatory groups, subject matter experts, and other management responsible for all NERC standards and requests for information.

Superintendent, Apr 2002 – May 2004

I moved to south Louisiana for the Superintendent position of the Louisiana Distribution Center. This position put me back in the supervisory role as I was responsible for 21 employees. Being involved in the statistical goal setting of the centers from my previous position laid the ground work for me at Hammond. Safety, staffing, material transportation, overtime, inventory, housekeeping, and customer service were the major items I had to get a handle on quickly. Processes were established and closely monitored to meet our goals. Monthly meetings were held with area network managers, operations coordinators and local storekeepers to establish and gain buy in on new and improved processes.

Procurement Specialist, Jun 1999 – Apr 2002

I began working in Entergy's Supply Chain as a procurement specialist. My primary responsibility was to maintain the material budget for the distribution warehouses across the system (AR. LA, TX, and MS) and Supply Chain's emergency procedures. This required learning and utilizing Entergy's budget reporting system and providing comparison analysis reports to all levels of management through monthly meetings. During this time Entergy prepared to merge with Florida Power & Light requiring more analysis, resource categorization and allocation, time studies, and procedure updates. Also during this time the LA Distribution Center was established. Being on the implementation team for this center brought about several new opportunities regarding staffing, financial allocations, and overall planning.

As Entergy's first female Operations Coordinator I was allowed to utilize my construction management degree even more. I supervised contract and company crews and was responsible for safety, underground work throughout south AR, job site inspections, audits, large construction jobs, and material requisitions.

Engineering Associate - Operations Support, Aug 1993 – Apr 1996

As Engineering Associate for Central Franchise (South AR and North LA) I coordinated bid lettings and contracts for construction jobs over 48 man-hours. I assisted with creating the set of Emergency Plans for Central Franchise. I was given the opportunity to develop strike contingency plans for South AR, oversee our crane and special equipment contracts, maintain the vegetation database, assist in major restoration events and facilitate during lessons learned meetings for all involved in major system restoration efforts.

As the business offices were closing and call centers were being established across Entergy's system I supervised the afterhours and emergency customer service reps for south Arkansas. Working 3:00pm - 11:00pm allowed me to finish my college degree. This position allowed me an opportunity to grow by learning supervisory skills. I became very familiar with interviewing, hiring, promoting, disciplining, and firing. This position also required interaction with all levels of management. I analyzed data of number of calls received, time handling, wait time, and calls dropped. I also maintained the call out rosters for servicemen and linemen for the Distribution Dispatch Center.
