Application for the post of Deputy Chief of Party, USAID/Bangladesh Climate Smart Agriculture Presently making plant nourishing compost and manure with kitchen wastes, mixing with cow dung, vermin-compost, leaf, grass, oil-cake, bone-meal, ash, straw etc and have been producing safe nutrient rich foods since 2002 and encouraging general mass with its health, carbon sequestration, environmental and other benefits through nutrient dense rooftop gardening training; Before that as an Extension worker served with the smallholder communities with crop, livestock, dairy, fishery, poultry etc livelihoods related to food-nutritional security. Current alarming issue is that the burning of fossil fuel produces 70 million tons of CO2 and added in the atmosphere daily. Humans are responsible for this 97% CO2 emissions. At this critical situations, world community should sit together to find out the ways and means for adaptation and mitigation the global warming without delay. Because we have the only one habitable planet in this universe to live in. We should nourish her (earth) as a child caring mother for taking care of her 8 billion children. Emphasis could be given on the adaptation, adaptive research, mitigation to have expected yields with the raise of global temperature. Glasgow climate change conference outcomes not encouraging since countries responsible not paid positive attention. We know Soil is literally alive, 58% carbon bears in Soil Organic Matter (SOM). It is full of bacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa, nematodes and many other creatures. In a teaspoon of healthy soil, in fact, there are more beneficial microbes than there are people on earth. But our crop-soil bears less than 1% SOM instead of normal 5%. So managing health nourishing safe activities with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in other sense promoting climate smart Agriculture for maximizing safe production, profit, supply chain etc at cost-effective rate as well as boosting SOM which is the life of soil in changing quality crop production through plant biomass and agronomic practices.
