Work Experience
Food Server
Vivian's Restaurant & Bill's BBQ - Lincoln City, OR July 2013 to Present
Responsibilities included greeting customers, seating, taking orders, up-selling, using a Micros system, serving and delivering orders, cashiering and communicating with back of the house staff and management. This was a smaller restaurant with seating for approximately 60 guests so I was in the
"public eye" constantly. I was able to increase repeat business with our "locals" and work at a very fast pace during our summer tourist season. I was able to build a following of regular customers because of the quality of the restaurant and having a great attitude. My customers understood that I loved my job and I was told frequently that it showed.
Food Service Worker
Blackfish Cafe - Lincoln City, OR
March 2016 to March 2019
1. Same as above including bartending.
Food Server
Canterwood Golf and Country Club - Gig Harbor, WA
April 2012 to May 2013
This position is a fine dining restaurant with a focus on social events and golf tournaments. As a server, I am responsible for ensuring the guests comfort as well as providing the highest quality service. The club's philosophy is warm welcomes, magic moments and fond farewells. We frequently had events at the club for up to 350 guests.
Food Server
Town Café & Loft Restaurant - Gardiner, MT
August 2011 to November 2011
As my contract was over at YNP, I moved into Gardiner at worked lunch and dinners shifts at The Town. We used Aloha POS and had a full-time cashier, so I was focused on customer service. I was proud to help influence local patrons to become regulars as this extended the season for the restaurant. I was the sole server for an 80 seat dining room for lunch, having another server join me for dinner shift until close. I kept communication open between the front and the back of the house as I found customers in a tourist town to be demanding with quite a lot of special requests. Cleaning, stocking for the morning shift and closing were also my responsibilities.
Food Server
Mammoth Hot Springs - Yellowstone National Park, WY August 2010 to July 2011
All of the responsibilities associated with serving in a dining room seating 400 people. This was a menu style "fine dining" restaurant with the "pace" of a cafe, as customers want service and then to go outside and enjoy the park. Each server was responsible for a section of 4 tables of 4 and two tables of 6 and 8 respectively, which could be combined to accommodate larger parties. I worked at least two shifts per day and was on-call to work three. This allowed the servers to have two days off a week. Jr. Waiter
Norwegian Cruise Lines - Honolulu, HI
March 2010 to July 2010
I was responsible for opening the "fruit station" every morning in the buffet. I set up, stocked and answered questions for passengers. In early afternoon I reported to the main dining restaurant and was a food server for a 2000 person, seated dining room. This included opening and closing the main dining area and all aspects of food service. This was also and seven day a week position for four months. Food Server
Holland American Princess - Anchorage, AK
March 2009 to September 2009
Beginning each morning, I set up the service station for the rail car I was assigned. This included making sure all items that were required for fine dining service were on board and stocked, the car was immaculate and my communication with the kitchen staff as flowing. This enabled me to provide an efficient, very enjoyable meal for our passengers. Our car provided seating for 88 guests, whereas our dining room only accommodated 44, so this required organization and constant updates to the kitchen staff on where I was at in the serving process. I made sure the car was clean and sanitized. I acted as hostess, busser, server and cashier. I restocked the service station after each meal to prepare for the next meal. I escorted passengers on and off the train at their destinations and made sure to thank each individual personally for joining us that day.
Food Server
Kernville Steak & Seafood - Lincoln City, OR
May 2005 to February 2008
I was hired for this restaurant as a hostess and the special event coordinator. On my second week of employment, the boss asked me if I could serve, as he needed a waitress. As I love having multiple responsibilities, I said yes and found "the job" that was made for me. I was responsible for opening the restaurant, cleaning dining room and service station, preparing desserts, serving lunch and dinner, up-selling, using the micros system, stocking, accepting deliveries from vendors, answering phones, greeting and seating customers, communicating with the kitchen and making sure my customers became regulars. I worked in the office as well using QuickBooks, Word, Excel, my filing skills, handling reservations, scheduling staff, and accounts payable. I was responsible for collecting the server's deposits at the end of their shifts and for closing the restaurant. Hostess, Office, Special Event Coordinator
Bay House Restaurant - Lincoln City, OR
January 2004 to May 2005
I made sure every person who walked in the door knew that they were welcome and would be given personal service. I organized seating in the dining room to make sure the servers were not overwhelmed and so they could also provide excellent service. I checked in with the kitchen on a regular basis to ensure everything was running smoothly. When I was in the office, I would market the restaurant for private parties. I would sell, organize, schedule, execute and supervise these functions. I answered phones, worked with vendors and created banquet event orders for the kitchen, staff and customers.
