Utility Clerk 07/2001 - Present

Front desk supervision, greeting the public, and answering multi-line telephones and direct calls accordingly. Receive and post utility payments from counter, mail, drop box and credit/debit cards. Assist customers with utility questions/concerns.

Compile work orders for all services provided by our utility and distribute to each department. Input new customers, final out customers, and follow up on work orders. Compile data and run bills for gas, water, garbage and sewer services. Do adjustments on utility bills, due to water leaks, mis-reads or billing errors. Handle all ACH data for utility billing and make sure information is at the bank in a timely manner. Get hand-held and radio-read devices ready for monthly meter reading. Compile data for monthly and annual water loss.

Apply monthly penalties to bills with outstanding balances. Compile and file all month end and annual reports. Compile all data needed by auditors for year-end reports. Write-off all bad debt and send to collection agency monthly. Daily deposits for all utility services.

Order office supplies for all departments.
