Responsible for the management, coordination and financial oversight of activities implemented under a USAID/TNC funded Parks in Peril (PiP) Project in the Cockpit Country implemented in partnership with the Forestry Department. Crafted strategies to enhance the capacity of private and public sector actors in conjunction with civil society partners in developing an intervention framework for biodiversity conservation and development. Managed a budget of US$1.1 m.

2007-2009

Responsible for the management, coordination, and financial oversight of activities implemented through a two-year sustainable community development project in the Cockpit Country, funded by USAID’s Protected Areas Rural Enterprise Project (USAID PARE) in partnership with the Forestry Department. This project supported conservation and the implementation of sustainable alternative livelihood strategies.

Accomplishments:

Provided Human Resource Support to the Organizational Unit:

Through recruiting, selection, orientation and mentorship of new staff.

Assisted the Program Director in the identification and development of training initiatives to support staff/partner/stakeholder development within budget.

Developed and managed/implemented contracts to support program/project activities which supported program strategies and objectives.

Contracts developed spanned work conducted in the Jamaica Program and in the US Virgin Islands.

Facilitated change management initiatives undertaken by the Organizational Unit.

Facilitated the implementation and concept development of all other TNC Jamaica Projects.

Supported TNC’s involvement in the development of the inputs to the National Ecological Gap Assessment Report.

Fundraised J$6M from the Environmental Foundation of Jamaica in partnership with USAID PARE and the Forestry Department to support the development of a Secretariat for the CCLFMC.

Managed sub-award to support the implementation of project activities.
