Launched successfully an average of 18 programs/platforms per year for the last 5 consecutive years (2018-2022).

Global program launched (0.5M vehicles) for Europe, Asia and South America markets during 2016

Launched a 1.3 million-vehicles-per-year program for GM North America that included 9 different customer manufacturing sites. Equipment acquisition and validation of 41 production lines within a 12-month period and managing a $7.6M project’s capital budget during 2014.

Met company capital budget targets for 11 consecutive years (2002-2013); budget included $10M/yr.

Capital reduction initiatives by re-utilizing existing equipment for new awarded projects. Savings included $500K/year (2006-2010)

New Programs Manager - May 2016 - present

New Products introduction for the Reynosa Seatbelt Plant and assure all GDPIM tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Ensure flawless seatbelt launches. New launches range between 16-18 programs per year.

Oversee the day-to-day activities of the New Programs department (40+ employees) to assure all new programs milestones are met on time and all engineering changes are successfully PPAP approved and implemented in serial production.

Minimize scrap and obsolescence costs due to model year and engineering changes to avoid impacting our plant operating costs.

Launch Manager - September 2014 – April 2016

Launched the global MY2016 GM D2xx (Chevy Cruze) program with annual volume of 500K vehicles/year and 10% annual ROS. Launch date: February-2016

Launched the MY2016 GM Chevy D2JCI (Volt electric vehicle) program with annual volume of 50K vehicle per year and 7% annual ROS. Launch date: April-2015

Launched the MY2015 Cadillac K2XL (Escalade) program successfully with annual volume of 50K vehicles/year with 6% annual ROS. Launch date: January 2015

Launched the Ford U22x (Expedition/Navigator) program with annual volume of 75K vehicle/year and 8% annual ROS.

Launch and Engineering Leader - March 2009 - August 2014

Capital budget development and management. Average budget includes $10M per year.

Assembly lines acquisition-establish assembly process and perform PPAP builds to meet program’s timing.

Launched the MY2015 K2xx program (Chevy truck program) which includes 1.3M vehicles/year.

Liaison between corporate office, launch team and customer; supervised 13 individuals (engineers and technicians).

Worked with vendors to drive cost reduction initiatives thru process balancing and equipment consolidation while ensuring compliance to established manufacturing standards.

Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor - August 2006 - March 2009

Managed overall performance and day-to-day activities of the Manufacturing Engineering department. In-charge of 25 engineers (mechanical and industrial engineers).

Developed equipment design standards handbook along with RFQ’s (requests for quotes) for Mexican suppliers. (i.e. Machines specification, assy process, cycle time, etc) for new/refurbish equipment. The purpoose of this initiative was to standardize equipment designs to carry minimum stock of replacement parts and avoid “single point of failures” equipment.

Developed and set up preventive maintenance plans for new equipment in conjunction with the Maintenance manager.

Supported annual ISO/TS audits and run @ rates events with the customers.

Implemented strategic plans for recent technologies based on lessons learned.

Accountable for the TRW consolidation process and transferred 80 assembly lines from one facility to another due to the economy downstream in 2008-2009.

Business aspects included quoting new business (40+ per year) and engineering changes (380+ per year).

Capital Budget & Cost Analyst Engineer - March 2002 - August 2006

Developed and managed yearly capital budget ($10M/year) for the operation which included business cases for new awarded business, Capital Expenditures Appropriations (CEAs) and funds approvals for new projects awarded.

Managed line capacity and utilization database for current and new awarded businesses. Supervised 2 FMEA coordinators.

Quality Engineer - May 1996 - March 2002

Performed line validation, equipment certification, tests lab incidents and warranty analysis. Reduced line-item rejects thru corrective and preventive actions implemented.

Line audits against PFMEA and control plans for corrective action implementation.

Costumer concerns 24-hour response - follow up on corrective/preventive actions completion and travel to customer plants to support program’s launches and Quality meeting.
