Has worked from 75% completed level of one foreign collaborated shipyard till the 100% completion level and then continued as head of afloat repairs of the same yard and later got elevated to the Planning and Quality Control Manager of the same shipyard, the first private sector Floating Dry Dick shipyard in India which came up with collaboration of Keppel Shipyard, Singapore.

Duties involved allotting work to various groups of Foremen/Workmen, monitoring progress, completion in time, getting Work Done Certificate signed by ship staff, helping commercial department in explaining about job for billing. Major pipe line renewals in Ballast Tanks, Wing Tanks, Engine rooms, Deck are carried out during this employment. Also, machining of large parts for fabrication (which is done at sister concern of Binny Harbour Works at Meenambakkam workshop). Crank shaft web dislocation removals and correction were also done while working in this firm. The role is not limited to specialized repair but almost all repairs allotted.

Carried out works like underwater valves, Main Engine repairs, Auxiliary Engine repairs, almost all engine room machinery repairs like pumps, valves, compressors, boiler, cooler, pipe lines and as speciality of Dry Dock, carried out Propeller removal and seal renewal, tail shaft survey and fitting back, load testing of pedestal bearings, rudder unshipment, survey and fitting. Daily briefing to Deputy Managers, Assistant Managers and Foremen to meet the schedule to avoid demurrage charged by ship and coordination with Shipwright department in scheduling jobs according to timing to avoid clash of work while hydro washing and sand blasting-painting, coordination with commercial department for all details of job for proper billing, interaction with Ship’s Superintendent, Chief Engineer and Captain for appraising them of work progress were part of the job.

As deputed by Vice President - Operations and Singapore delegates, carried out major rebuilding of a fire damaged ship `M.V. Madhuri’ of Shipping Corporation of India, for renewal of their 75% of Deck and Hull plates, the pipe lines in the hatches and ballast tanks, accommodation plates (bulkhead and floor), paneling, cabling and termination.
