Summary
For the past 25 years, I have practiced law throughout the state of Alabama with an office located in Bessemer, Alabama. Throughout my career, I have exhibited a strong emphasis on Trial Advocacy. My practice has included the areas of Civil, Criminal, Domestic Relations as well as Estate Law. As an intern and law clerk with Paden and Paden (Attorney for the city of Bessemer), and as a law clerk and attorney with Powell Lipscomb and Associates the job included legal research skills, trial preparation and the ability to handle multiple projects. The practice of law encompasses good communication skills, writing skills, organization skills, research, trial preparation, attention to detail along with following deadlines and time sensitive situations. As an appellate attorney before the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals, the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals and the Alabama Supreme Court; I have the strong ability to communicate both with written words within a specific time framework. For an effective lawyer utilizes not only good written communication skills, but also good oral communication skills. I believe that my communication, preparative, analytical and use of research skills along with an astute attention to detail and accuracy are some of my strongest skills. It is through the utilization of these skills that my abilities can be used by your firm.
