INTERPRETER – Interpret from English to Samoan and Samoan to English for the Judges, Lawyers, Court Officers and Clients in the High Court of American Samoa.

Acted as Interpreter between a wide range of people with diverse voices, accents, speaking tempos and personalities.

Provided parties with clear and exact translations of written materials, and interpretations of verbal communication.

PROBATION OFFICER – High Court of American Samoa

Worked closely with Family Court and Juveniles.

Worked with those who are on probation in lieu of jail time after being convicted of a crime. Responsibilities included evaluating people on probation to determine the best course of rehabilitation and providing resources, such as job training. Interviewed the probationer, as well as those close to them, to ensure that they're making progress and following the restrictions in place. From time to time randomly, if necessary, tested probationers for substance abuse and provide counseling, testified in court and wrote reports, maintained files on those who under our supervision.
