Summary
Experienced senior event planner and project manager seeking local, part or full time
consulting position. Excellent organizational, communication, budgeting and planning
skills.
Professional Experience
AEGIS Insurance Services, Inc., East Rutherford, NJ
Senior Meeting Planner 1999 - 2019
Responsible for the planning and execution of all corporate events for AEGIS, a leading mutual insurance company that
provides liability and property coverage to the energy industry.
Managed and maintained 3 million dollar budget for approximately 30 events per year. Responsible for ensuring events
stayed within budget and showcased our company objectives.
Worked closely with the CEO, Board of Directors and other Senior executives to set vision and objectives for the company.
Managed one direct report year full time and numerous “sub contractors” (DMC’s, transportation coordinators, audio
visual contractors) throughout the year, based on needs of the different events.
Responsible for all pre planning (contract negotiation, audio/visual, food/beverage and entertainment coordination), on
site management and post production for all conferences/events in North America and Europe. Events ranged from 60 to
2000 people. It’s not the number of people; it is the attention to details and “thinking outside of the box” that ensure
conferences and events are successful.
Coordinated the AEGIS Annual Policyholders Conference for multiple years throughout the US and Canada. The
Policyholders’ Conference was the “main event each year” for AEGIS to showcase its special and unique qualities in the
marketplace. I was in charge and lead a team of 25 plus people to ensure success all around. I partnered with Destination
Management Companies in each city to help create a truly memorable experience of each specific city. Organized
numerous tours, golf tournaments, off site receptions in conjunction with the educational programs.
Coordinated the U.S and London Board of Directors’ meetings all over the world. The U.S. Board (and their spouses) met
3 to 4 times a year for 3 days (including evening functions). The London Board met once or twice a year, for 2 days,
throughout Europe. The most memorable event I coordinated was in Morocco. Our U.S. and London Board of Directors
wanted to explore the business opportunities in Africa. The experience in Morocco was completely different than my
other European experiences but I thrived on the challenge and it was a huge success.
Established and built out the event planning department at AEGIS. At the time I was hired, there was nothing set in
place. I established a well-functioning, organized department. I envisioned more efficient guidelines and /created a
functional and manageable process, while continuing to stay within budget. The process and guide lines I created are still
in place today and seen by many as extremely effective.
Initiated and created a company-wide event calendar.
Traveled extensively.
Consistently received top performance reviews with bonuses.
