Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate academic support services at UTPB.
Supervise and train 60 student staff to facilitate student learning and apply learner assessment and feedback in a collaborative learning environment across eight different academic support programs.
Major Accomplishments:
Develop and implement a Peer-Led Team Learning program in General Chemistry, decreasing DFWI rates from 42% to 21%.
Lead a student success centered Peer-Mentor program for freshmen on academic probation or conditional university admission. The program retains 60% or more of the students.
Create a mentor program curriculum that encourages regular student self- reflection and assessment, goal-setting, and other methods essential to a learner’s growth and university student success.
Serve as an academic advisor to freshmen on academic probation, working with students through GPA recovery, financial aid SAP appeal process, and connecting students to university resources.
