As you can imagine, over the course of my 50 year work history I have had a few jobs. I am hoping to just highlight the healthcare positions I have done over the years. I’ll start with my most recent employment, though it is not health related.

I have only been working there since October of 2022, I did training in Grand Rapids for 2 weeks prior to starting to become a CCA, which is basically a non-career mail carrier for city routes. I’m on 90 day probation, and from my understanding it can take up to 2 years to become a career mail carrier.

I worked for an I.H.S dental clinic for the Tulalip Tribe of Washington State Health Clinic,
I mainly assisted with 1 DDS who specialized in all the Implant surgeries, Sinus lifts, Extractions and Bone Grafting also helped assist with RCT, Build-Ups, Crown and Bridge, Alloy and Composite Restorative, patient education, child prophys, OHI direction. Scheduling, chart notation, patient follow-up. Also assisted with the sterilization of instruments, disinfection/sanitation of operatories, routine weekly maintenance of operatory equipment, handpieces, lab work, ie. Pour models, make custom trays, bleach trays.

I worked with Sean who helped me become a home healthcare aide. In the state of Washington, it is required that you do a 12 week computer course and then take a test to be registered with the state. I also completed the Nurse Delegate portion of home healthcare and took the testing. I worked as a home aide as a supplemental income for a couple of years before COVID, I didn’t feel comfortable in possibly bringing in the virus to a patient. I worked with 3 cerebral palsy patients, 1 ambulatory to a point and 2 non-ambulatory and then I also helped as respite for an autistic patient.
NW Kidney Centers September1984 – April 1986

I trained through St Joseph Hospital in Bellingham Washington to be a homecare Kidney Dialysis tech where I performed dialysis treatments 3x a week, 4 hour sessions with 2 patients in their own home. I set up, tore down and sterilized dialysis machine. Performed weekly maintenance on the machine and preformed blood draws for specific blood tests. Monitored patient vitals for having a successful treatment. Got them ready to continue the rest or their day.
Beechwood Nursing Home February 1982 – September1984

Worked as a CNA for a psychotic nursing home on the graveyard shift. The home had 2 floors, top being continent patients and the 1st floor being patients with less mobility and incontinent and needed vitals checked.
