OBJECTIVE:

• To be in the continuous learning process in paediatrics to serve the children with my knowledge and skills

I am a medical officer with more than 12 years of experience in paediatric field and having work experiences in both sri lanka and overseas (5 years of Gulf experience). I had completed Diploma in Child health (Glasgow) and MRCPCH(UK) both part one and two completed and awaiting to complete clinical

(could not complete due to pandemic situation) I am able to work in either general paediatric ward and the clinic or NICU and will be offering special duty given to me. I am interested in child care and prevention of health related issues and looking forward to work in a good environment. WORK EXPERIENCE

SENIOR HOUSE OFFICER IN PAEDIATRIC PROFESSORIAL UNIT, LADY RIDGEWAY HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN, SRI LANKA

• Senior house officer in paediatric professorial unit at Lady ridgeway Children Hospital, which is the only government hospital for children in Sri Lanka and has all sub specialities for the children.

• I was working in the 56 bedded ward where both general ward and both neurology and nephrology units were attached.

• I did every third day oncal duty and able to perform venepuncture,cannulation,lumbar puncture, and intubation as well.

• There are eight consultants and there is daily clinics including 1. nephrology clinic once a week

2. neurology clinic once a week

3. Endocrine clinic and obesity clinic twice a week 4. General paediatric clinics twice a week

5. Clinic for children with special needs once in two weeks

• Attending all the clinics during normal duty hours and plan the management according to the guidelines and advise from the relevant consultant

• I was doing 1st oncal duty in the paediatric nephrology unit separately and looking after the children with renal disorders and the children who has undergone kidney transplant

• And the unit has done 15 kidney transplants to date and I am currently in the unit coordinating kidney transplant and follow up

SENIOR HOUSE OFFICER, ARMED FORCES HOSPITAL MUSCAT

• Worked with multinational paediatric team at armed forces hospital in sultanate of Oman under ministry of Defence

• I was working as a medical officer in the general paediatric ward which consists of 25 beds and 30 bedded Neonatal ICU,which included 6 ventilators and 4 CPAP.

• NICU duties including attending deliveries and post natal ward round and looking after the neonates in the NICU

• During the day, we have to do ward round and present to the senior consultant and do investigation and attend emergencies at ER and decide on admission and further management.

• Oncal duties were every fourth day and it was for both paediatric ward and NICU

• I was promoted to senior medical officer(second oncal) during my last year. DATES FROM MARCH 2009– TO JULY 2012

• Immediately after my internship, I was working as a Senior House officer (Medical Officer) in the paediatric unit which is 25 bedded ward and 12 bedded NICU

• I was doing every third day oncal duties and it was a busy unit and delivering nearly 10 babies daily and i had to attend the deliveries and look after the neonates.

• Ward rounds and daily clinics to be attended by all medical officers and post oncal person to attend the ward round
