1. Cdr Ahbitan Chiromah Yakubu was born on 15 July 1981 and hail from Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State. He attended Christ Ambassadors College from 1992 to 1998 and gained admission into the Nigeria n Defence Academy (NDA) on 22 Sep 00 as a member of 52 Regular Course. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences from NDA in Sep 2004 and was commissioned into the Nigerian Navy (NN) as a Sub-Lieutenant in Sep 05.

2. Since graduating from NDA, he has attended several military courses such as Sub-Technical Course at NNS QUORRA Lagos in 2006, Basic Patrol Craft Riverine Operations Course at Navy Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School, John C Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, USA in 2008. Officers Long Course at Signal School, Indian Navy Ship VENDURUTHY Cochin India in 2010. Junior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in 2011. Others are Comparative Junior Course at Navy Command College, Nanjing China, in 2012, Tactical Communications Course at Navy Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School, John C Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, USA in 2013. He also attended his Senior Course at Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Teshie Ghana in 2017. Cdr AC Yakubu holds a Masters Degree in Defence and International Politics from Ghana Institute of Management and Personnel Administration.

3. He has held various appointments in the NN both afloat and ashore. These appointments include Watch Keeping Officer onboard NNS KYANWA and ARADU at different times between 2006-2008. He also served ashore as Assistant Boat Officer and Boat Officer at NNS PATHFINDER in 2008 and 2013 respectively. He was an instructor at the NNSBS training camp at different times between 2010 - 2012. He later served as Chief Instructor at the NNSBS between 2014 to 2016. He was the Base Operations Officer at Naval Base Lake Chad BAGA from 2018 to 2019. Before his appointment as Directing Staff at the AFCSC in 2020, he was the Executive Officer NNS KYANWA.

4. He is an Associate Member of the Certified Institute of Shipping and Chattered Institute of Personnel Management. He is also a Senior Member of the Chattered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management. The Senior Officer is happily married to Chef Grace Ahbitan Yakubu and the Union is blessed with 3 beautiful girls and a cute boy. His hobbies include painting, reading, writing, listening to music and working out.
