Experience

Insurance Advisor, Hub International July 2018 - current In my role as an auto insurance advisor it is my responsibility to present each client with the coverage options to best suit his/her needs. It is important to do this confidently and clearly which requires organization, preparedness and a thorough understanding of the products I’m offering. Building a relationship of trust in each interaction is key to the success of my work. Owner and Operator, Spruce Cleaning Services January 2017 - July 2018 As the owner and operator of my own cleaning business I have learned the importance of organization, time management, and maintaining positive relationships with my customers and employees. Cleaning homes in a thorough and diligent manner requires endurance through long hours of physical labour while maintaining close attention to detail. This experience has helped me to recognize the personal satisfaction I receive from being conscientious and meticulous in all that I do. Additionally, professionalism and integrity are of utmost importance as I am often hired to clean homes while the occupants are absent and rely on building a relationship of trust. Through the experience I’ve had running my own business I have learned how to be self-motivated and creative in problem solving. Teller, Bank of Nova Scotia: Lethbridge, AB September 2014 -July 2015 Being a teller taught me to maintain a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality at all times. I grew both personally and professionally as I learned to communicate effectively and build meaningful relationships with my customers and coworkers. I learned to work independently under pressure while helping to maintain a positive and comfortable environment for the customer. I came to appreciate the importance of thorough training and following specific instruction from leaders and management.

Sales rep, Vivint April-August 2014

Sold Vivint’s industry leading home automation and security systems directly to homeowners. Delivered a professional sales presentation to up to 50 homeowners every day and demonstrated the ability to think on my feet and handle a variety of customer questions and concerns. Valley Podiatry January-April 2014

As a full-time medical office assistant for a small podiatry office I made sure everything ran smoothly: filed charts, transferred information, worked the phones, cleaned the operating rooms, sterilized equipment and worked directly with patients and the doctor. I made it my personal goal to ensure that everyone that visited the office enjoyed a friendly and hassle-free experience. Domino’s Pizza April 2013-April 2014 and summer of 2015 Served customers who placed orders in the store and over the phone. Transferred information and took care of the cash register. Made the pizzas in an efficient manner while ensuring the strictest standards of food safety were observed.

Often managed the store on my own: took inventory, restocked supplies, counted the cash and paid the drivers at the end of his or her shift.

Cashier, Superstore June-December 2012

Managed a cash register and served hundreds of shoppers each shift. I was required to exemplify integrity while completing the tasks required of me. Special Skills

Computer

Was enrolled in multiple skills-based classes at Lethbridge college where I learned the functions of Outlook, Microsoft, Access, Word, Excel and more. Bookkeeping

Practiced the basics of bookkeeping in a Financial Accounting class at Lethbridge College. Volunteer

Missionary Service August 2015-December 2016

Served as a full-time missionary in Atlantic Canada for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I learned the value of hard work and being self-motivated. For the last year of my service I was put in various positions of leadership and had the opportunity to prepare and present training to my peers in groups ranging from about 10 to 50. This training was based on information I had gathered from groups of missionaries by personally observing their work habits as well as regularly discussing with them their difficulties and concerns. Through counseling with other missionaries in leadership positions and reviewing goals and overall progress, we could determine not only where to focus our training at conferences but how to implement and sustain the instructions we gave.
