SEASONAL CITY CLEANUP CORPS JOB VACANCY NOTICE
Title: Maintenance Worker for City Cleanup Corps Duration: up to 12/31/21 Work Location: Citywide* Salary: $29.98/Hour

Be part of the City Cleanup Corps (CCC) at NYC Parks and beautify public spaces. The CCC will help promote tourism and confidence in New York City and drive a recovery for all of us.
NYC Parks is the steward of over 30,000 acres of land – 14 percent of New York City – including more than 5,000 individual properties ranging from Coney Island Beach and Central Park to community gardens and Greenstreets. We operate more than 800 athletic fields and nearly 1,000 playgrounds, 1,800 basketball courts, 550 tennis courts, 65 public pools, 51 recreational facilities, 15 nature centers, 14 golf courses and 14 miles of beaches. We care for 1,200 monuments and 23 historic house museums. We look after 600,000 street trees and two million more in parks. We are New York City’s principal providers of recreational and athletic facilities and programs. We are home to free concerts, world-class sports events and cultural festivals. Employees who work for 6 months or longer are eligible for healthcare benefits. All staff will be provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Major Responsibilities
• Staff hired for these positions will focus on rodent abatement including extermination, stoppage, and enhanced cleaning and collection to suppress rat colonies in parks.
• Maintain, adjust and repair building hardware and equipment.
• Conduct general maintenance of properties and facilities, including refuse material.
• Inspect facilities and properties, make repairs and remove graffiti.
• Make minor repairs to masonry, woodwork, flooring and walls.
• Make minor repairs to building electrical, plumbing and heating systems.
• Keep accurate logs and records of daily activities. Qualification Requirements
1. Three years of full-time satisfactory experience as a mechanic, journey person, or helper in the electrical trades, the mechanical trades, or the construction or maintenance of buildings; or
2. At least two years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in “1” above plus sufficient full-time training or education in the electrical, mechanical, or construction trades in a trade school or vocational high school approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization to make up the equivalent of three years of acceptable experience. Six months of experience will be credited for each year of full-time acceptable training or education. 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least two years of experience as specified in “1” above.
License Requirements
For positions in certain agencies, a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York is required. This license must be maintained for the duration of the assignment.
Residency in New York City, Nassau, Orange, Rockland, Suffolk, Putnam or Westchester counties required for employees with over two years of city service. New York City residency required within 90 days of hire for all other candidates. Fees: Hired candidates will be subject to a processing fee of $68.00. Hired candidates who are not currently employed by the City will be subject to an $88.25 background check fee.
