As a rigger, I rigged on submarines and all naval class ships. We used all forms of rigging to manipulate weight while maintaining positive control of load at all times. I also drove forklifts to load and unload trailers, and I loaded, unloaded skids to put materials on and off of ships. My last five years of employment, I was a nuclear subject expert and instructor; I taught nuclear training classes for nuclear certifications in nuclear work. While at Lockwood, I worked with hydraulic and conventional cranes. Additionally, I worked on various rigging jobs, including the construction of the Alpengeist roller coaster at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg and ship-board rigging at Newport News Shipbuilding on the military sealift USS Gordon. I have extensive knowledge in safe rigging practices, including block and tackle, use of snatch blocks, electric and manual chainfalls, air tuggers and air falls, and set up of hydraulic and conventional cranes. I have also worked on numerous rigging jobs at Anheuser-Busch in Williamsburg.

As a machine tool operator. I rebuilt and overhauled sea valves, gate valves, forced air blowers, main feed pumps, modified weapons elevator parts, and performed other production work. I also aligned machines on foundations, removed and installed new machinery, precision-leveled various machines and equipment, ran and tested high pressure compressors, and manufactured small shafts and parts for valves using the engine lathe and vertical mill.
