I am a former Nurse Corps Officer whom transitioned out of the Army after 8+ years. In my years in service I was granted many opportunities to acquire a number of skills by serving as a charge nurse the majority of the time coordinating and providing patient within a multidisciplinary team. This helped me excel in my leadership skills and provide safe patient care with excellent critical thinking and communication skills. A majority of my career was spent in Labor and Delivery where my skills and passion for women’s health was nurtured. Participates in unit quality improvement, staff development, and continuing education.
Direct care of up to 12 inpatient gravidas women, including coaching all stages of labor, observation for antepartum women after 20 weeks gestation, circulating for cesarean section cases and recovery of all cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries.
Managed care of high-risk pregnancies, intrauterine fetal demise, post-partum hemorrhage, and induction of labor. Provided teaching for post-partum care, newborn care, and breastfeeding.
