MOS 7041 (Military Occupational Specialty) : Aviation Operations Specialist Description:

My career as a 7041 mainly consisted of record keeping and tracking flight schedules for the past, present and future. I answered emails and phone calls and made sure all tangible and electronic records, rosters and chits were scanned and uploaded to our share drive. I ensured that flightlines and aircraft support were prepared and functioning properly. I managed the airfield to ensure all aircraft structures were operating properly. I conducted daily FOD (foreign object debris) inspections on our equipment. I communicated with Air Traffic Control to keep track of aircraft arrivals and departures. I was also responsible for recording all mandatory and voluntary training each individual in my squadron had completed. I recorded the pilots’ monthly flight hours in paper flight logs and electronically. Several times out of the week I would lead Military Fitness Tests and keep score of all the participating Marines.
