FLOAT POOL ED RN • ADVENT HEALTH • 3/2019 - PRESENT Float among multiple Advent Health campuses in the emergency department setting (Altamonte, Apopka, Lake Mary, Oviedo). Work as a team to take care of all age ranges with emergency care needs. From urgent care complaints to Stroke, MI, and Sepsis.
LEVEL II TRAUMA ED RN • RMC OF SAN JOSE • 1/2014 - PRESENT Busy level II trauma center in San Jose, CA. Provide care for patients in car accidents, GSWs, Stroke, MI, Sepsis, and DKA. This facility gets extremely busy to where patients are boarded quite often. Provide care for patients waiting for ICU admission on vents, vasopressors, and EVD’s. Able to collaborate with many different interdisciplinary team members to make patient plans of care.
TRAVEL NURSE • EMERALD HEALTH SERVICES • 5/2013 – 1/2014 Worked as a travel nurse in Fresno, CA at Community Regional Medical Center. I took 2, 13 week contracts in the Level I Trauma Center. There I worked in different zones in a 4:1 ratio. Learned to adapt and quickly learn a new charting system and care for a wide range of patients. MED/SURG ICU RN• DEKALB MEDICAL CENTER • 8/2010 – 5/2013 Worked in a combined Med/Surg ICU in Atlanta, GA. Patient ratio was usually 2:1, at times 3:1. Cared for patients on vasoactive drips, ventilators, and insulin drips. Collaborated with Intensivists and Surgeons to create a plan of care for patients. Monitored lab values and notified physicians of any critical changes. Worked as a team player in a unit with over 30 beds.
LEVEL III TRAUMA ED RN • ST JOHN MEDICAL CENTER •6/2009 – 8/2010 Worked in a 30 bed ER in Longview, WA. Provided care for infants to adult patients. The ratio in this department was 4:1. Patients who required a higher level of care, these patients were stabilized and transferred out to outlying facilities either by helicopter or ambulance. SURGICAL ICU RN • PARKRIDGE MEDICAL CENTER •8/2008 – 6/2009 Worked in a Surgical ICU in Chattanooga, TN. Took care of post-surgical patients on ventilators and vasoactive drips. Patients post open abdominal surgeries, cardiac and vascular surgeries, and neuro interventions. Also cared for overflow Medical ICU patients. Managed central and arterial lines.
CARDIOVASCULAR ICU RN • SACRED HEART MEDICAL CENTER •7/2007 – 8/2008
Worked in a busy open heart recovery unit in Spokane, WA. Recovered post open heart procedure patients from the operating room. Managed ventilators, PA lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, and multiple vasoactive drips. Also cared for patients requiring balloon pumps, CRRT, and ventricular assist devices. Reviewed laboratory results and replaced electrolytes accordingly. Titrated insulin drips to maintain normal blood glucose levels. Managed patients with dysrhythmias and tachycardia. Collaborated with CV Surgeons, Cardiologists, Pulmonologists, Anesthesia, and Respiratory therapy.
LEVEL II TRAUMA CENTER ED RN • SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON MEDICAL CENTER •6/2005 – 7/2007
Worked in a busy trauma center in Vancouver, WA. Cared for trauma patients from GSW, MVC, stabbing, or falls. Patients with severe burns or spinal cord injuries were transferred via helicopter to Level Trauma Center in Portland, OR. Cared for STEMI and Stroke patients. Ratio was 4:1, but the code rooms were 2:1. Created working relationships with ED providers and admitting physicians.
