Verifies test requisitions by comparing information into the nursing station log
Verifies patient information by asking their identity (e.g. name, age, birthdate)
Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and fingersticks.
Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures; observing isolation procedures.
Monitors glucose levels by performing bedside glucose tests; recording results; reporting results to unit nurse-manager.
Explain and informs the client about the procedure of the test and the proper collection of sample
Screen client/donor(s) for blood donation
Perform bloodletting/extraction to the client who are voluntary to donate blood
Explain the benefits of bloodletting and give some health teachings
