Current Employment Description
Wockhardt Hospitals in Mumbai region in India. It provides international health care of the client in various major specialities like Cardiac Surgery, Neuro surgery, Liver Transplantation, Kidney Transplantation, Hip & Knee Replacement Surgery, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, URO Surgery, Bariatiric Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery etc.
The Hospital has 250 beds,6 OTs & 3 ICUs. This is a NABH & JCI Accredited Hospital. All procedures are carried out in conformity with NABH & JCI Proctocols.
Basic Nursing Functions & Skills Trained to perform procedures :- Assessing the Client.
Checking Vital signs & Collecting present complains. Allay the anxiety of the client by proper explanations. Making the client comfortable. for eg: Asthmatic client-keeping bed propped up position, giving nebulization, administering 02 inhalation, Monitoring sao2.
Carry out orders promptly.
Making admission & Discharge of clients.
Preparations of unit for the client.
Assessing blood pressure.
Maintain Intake & Output chart.
Maintain all emergency equipment & Medicines.
Performing 12 lead ECG.
Emergency client care: Assessing condition, vital sign monitoring, cardiac monitoring as possible, administering emergency medications, admnistering of Oxygen, assisting & performing CPR.
Collecting personal, medical & family history of the client. IV Cannulization & blood sampling.
Assisting & performing defibrillation in emergency. Calculation and administration of medicines, injections. Cleaning & dressing of wounds, stitch removal etc. Assist & guide the juniors, nursing assistant & auxiliary personal. Co-ordinate the team.
Maintain good & healthy interpersonal relationship with all members of the health team.
Care of the patient with endotracheal tube, tracheostomy tube & drainage tube etc.
Maintaining patent airway- Access the airway patency, insertion of oral airway, perform physiotherapy, & postural drainage to mobilize secretions. Maintain the records & the reports.
Preparation and maintenance of crash cart.
Maintaining syringe pump, infusion pump.
IV preparation, IV cannulation, administration of IV fluids, care of IV sites etc. Assisting & performing dressing (eg: bedsore & surgical wound). Care of clientswith closed chest drainage tubes.
Maintaining asepsis throughout all procedures.
