PROFILE

I am a board certified Internal Medicine Physician with expertise and experience of twenty years in Emergency Medicine. I have practiced in busy New York Hospitals with 80K volumes and level 1 trauma centers as well as community hospitals. My love is to teach Emergency Medicine to residents and Physician Assistants and teach evidence based Emergency Medicine and approach diseases and conditions in a systematic and algorithmic fashion. I have extensive and varied experience in Clinical Medicine and procedures. Because of my twenty years of full time Emergency Medicine my approach is concise and efficient while at the same time enhancing patient care and satisfaction. After practicing emergency medicine in New York City I moved on to Upstate New York in a 40K volume and also was medical director of the Emergency Department and County EMS. I spent about 6 years in Upstate New York and moved to North Carolina practicing in small and large community Hospitals. I am currently working as Emergency Medicine Physician at Nash General with 65K-70K volume as well as Wilson Memorial( 55K volume) and Johnston Memorial hospitals ( 55K volume ) . These are all level 2 trauma centers. Since 1997 I have worked in Emergency Rooms treating adult, pediatric, gynecologic and obstetric and trauma ( both level 1 and level 2). E X P E R I E N C E

Worked as a Emergency Medicine physician at Our Lady of Lourdes. I loved earlier on to diagnose and treat acute problems and diagnose the problems. Internal Medicine Board questions usually give scenarios of patient presenting in the emergency medicine; well, I wanted to work where I can see these patients first hand and diagnose and treat them. I love the aspect of caring for critical care patients and this provided me with an opportunity to do that. I Worked here as a Full time attending in Emergency Medicine and saw adult patients, pediatric patients, gynecologic emergencies as well as traumas. In 2004 I became the Medical Director of Emergency Medicine at this hospital as well as Medical Director of EMS.
