As a Operating Engineer for the Local 324 in Michigan, I was contracted to operate equipment and assist other trades. The equipment that operated consisted of Excavators, Backhoes, Roller, Dozer, Skid Steer, Loader, and Haul truck. The project that we were building was a sewer system for the city of Novi here in Michigan. We installed over 300 20 foot by 20 foot concrete box culverts into an open excavation via a 350 ton mobile crane. I myself got the privilege of digging for the culverts and backfilling them while grading off the top of the excavation to be seeded for grass. While at LaSalle I was unloading trucks with a rough terrain fork truck, also I had to load gravel trains with a wheel loader to get rid of all the spoils that we had from our excavation.
