Activities Assistant

Cherokee County Health and Rehab - Centre, AL

October 2009 to June 2014

I interacted with about 72 residents on a daily basis. I either saw residents in their private rooms as a one on one, or in group activities for which I transported them to and from. I took great pride and really enjoyed getting to know each resident and learning their limits and non limits in their motor skills. Each activity, I charted by paper and then on a computer system on the ways each and every resident would communicate and interact with me.

I went on and became a CNA. It was also a fast paced environment. I was assigned the bariatric unit that consisted of 14 residents. By keeping up daily with residents' charts, I was trained and used half and whole body slings, as well as geriatric chairs. I also used sit to stand lifts. I know the body mechanics of how to move a resident depending on their care needs. My goal everyday, was to have all residents who wanted to be up, to be up dressed, and transported to the dining area for breakfast and lunch. Throughout the day, I assisted in showers, sauna baths, bed baths, personal hygene, and transporting residents to whereever they needed to go in the facility. I then advanced to Assistant Manager

I then advanced to Assistant Manager

Catos Fashion - Rome, GA

January 2009 to October 2009

Rome, GA

January 2009 to October 2009

My role was to be on the sales floor at all times greeting incoming customers and assisting them on their clothing needs. In doing so, it was a preventative measure on keeping the shrink down. I was very successful at it. I then advanced to Assistant Manager. I followed the store manager's role in assisting her in planograms and floor sets on a weekly basis, as well as working along side her on rotating new freight out on the sales floor. I opened or closed the store opposite of the managers schedule. When opening the store, I set the cash registers up, listened to conference calls from coorporate on the daily goals for the store, and made any changes needed for the floor sets. When closing the store, I was responsible for closing out all the days business receipts and making sure everything balanced out. I balanced out all monies in the cash registers, and wrote up for the banking deposits. I also assited the sales team in making sure the store was clean, neat, and organized for the next business day. We kept the floors clean and all windows clean and sales counters clean. With further training, I was promoted to Store Manager. I opened the store on a daily basis, rechecked the monies from the previous business day, then made bank deposits. I was on conference calls with district manager every morning to see if there were any changes in floor sets, new planograms, associate discrepancies, shrink, and incoming freight changes. I was responsible for correcting any of those as soon as i could. I took great pride in making the changes and doing what needed to be done to sell the merchandise and delivering great customer service. I unloaded freight on a weekly basis that ranged from 50-120 cases. I unboxed, unwrapped, then security tagged and placed clothing on hangers for the sales associates to assist me on getting them to their floor sets. I also made the weekly work schedule for at least 6 associates on the hours alotted to me from home office. I strived to keep a team on the sales floor to monitor and keep shrink down, and was very succesful at it. Through hard work, I took pleasure in assisting 3 different stores as a manager. Operations Manager/ Owner

I obtained a commercial driver's license and began driving for this company. Through dedication an dhard work, I became a straight truck owner and hired drivers for two trucks. I was responsible for making sure the trucks passed all DOT inspections, and had all correct placards, and correct paperwork for all 48 states including Canada. I was responsible for finding loads through the company, and then sending the loads via the onboard computer of the trucks. I handled all monies from the loads and made payments to the drivers. I tracked each load from the shipper to the consignee, watching and calculating all miles. On a monthly basis, I performed a DOT inspection myself to ensure the safety of the drivers. When necessary I fired and rehired drivers, and repoed the trucks when need be. Skills
