WORK EXPERIENCE

• SLVUSD (2021-2023)

• Easter Seals Central Coast (2018 - 2023)

• In Home Support Services (2018 - Current)

• Balance4kids (2011-2018) Instructional/Health Aide

• Kid Quest (2014-2018) After school program supervisor

• Respite Provider (2011-2018)

My work experience over the past 10 years has been in the field of special education and rehabilitation of children and young adults with special needs or circumstances, learning ways to be more ambulatory through adapted physical movement and teaching how to be independent out in the community. I recently was working for the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District, working in the special education department specializing in resource students.

Kid Quest was a after school program run by balance4kids in which children with a wide range of disabilities come to after school and learn how to play and work with others. Cooking, gardening, and pet care are just a few things we teach the kids at kid quest, learning to cope with stresses from school, home, or friends is another. As a respite provider I go to the home of my client and take care of his personal needs like feeding and personal care, taking him to his physical therapy appointments or taking walks in the park to increase his muscular endurance, my respite client is somewhat non ambulatory.

In home support service is working in the home of my client that is quadriplegic. His needs are vast and change from day to day at times. Medical needs are essential along with data charting, data collection needs to be precise and accurate for his overall health. Working for Easter Seals Central Coast since 2018, I worked as a one-to-one aide at an Elementary school for 4 different students, all 4 have very distinct needs and I also played the role as a classroom aide when teachers required more staff to run the classroom. Also played the role of yard duty, helping kids, parents, and staff. MISSCELLANEOUS

Avid outdoorsman and athlete all my life; been involved with organized sports since the 3rd grade, basketball, baseball, football, golf, Frisbee golf, volleyball and tennis. Movement is important for learning, not just for motor skill, but for everyday learning, especially in the classroom. I believe movement and physical education is a huge part of child development, this notion needs to be put into action in our schools nationwide. References
