I have worked in several different areas during my time with the Department of Human Services. I began as a comprehensive case worker with a case load comprising of medical, snap and child care cases. When the office was switched to a task-based system; I was assigned to the change unit which was responsible for all incoming client calls and processing mail. We updated reported changes into the system. I was with the change unit for approximately one year at which time I was moved to the Snap Review Unit. This involved completing semi- annual reviews of approximately 100-110 cases per month. I also routinely back up my coworkers in other areas and doing emergency snap certifications for our walk- in clients. I have dealt with both state and federal policies, laws and regulations. I am good at interviewing with the goal of obtaining information that the clients need but may not know how to ask.

I was assigned with an experienced Locate work in order to learn programs that are utilized daily. I was assigned my first caseload that consisted of paternity and Notice of Support Debt cases. I prepared necessary pleadings. During weekly hearings I would meet with parties that where present. Negotiated agreements, prepared Genetic orders and continuances as needed. I did this for approximately 1 year.
Caseloads and duties where adjusted and I was assigned to the court team with my primary duties was managing the Genetic Testing schedule. I prepared all genetic testing orders and scheduled appointment for testing. When results where received I prepared pretrial hearings, motions to dismiss and notification to all parties. I was assigned to the court team as a full team member. This position required doing more direct work for the office attorneys. I prepared files and documents for both Administrative and District Court. I worked closely with the office attorneys in preparing their district court cases and did any assigned work that they needed done. I coordinated all case files on Administrative Court days. I was responsible for distributing cases to caseworkers, so that all parties were seen. It was also my responsibility to make sure all orders were correctly completed by the assigned caseworker and then sent to an attorney for signature. I took the completed orders to the administrative law judge to be finalized and entered minutes to office files.
