Director of Activities
As the Activities Director I was personally responsible for all aspects of the facility's activities program. My main objective was to provide a variety of programming to meet the physical, cognitive, sensory and psychosocial needs of the patients. Others duties included:
Managing a department of three activity personnel
Providing documentation for the assessment process, care planning, progress notes, participation records, physician orders and precaution records for 178 senior citizen geriatric complex with an Assisted Living wing
Providing patients, family, staff and visitors with specific information regarding the scheduling of activity programs
Maintaining monthly calendars for LTC, SUBACUTE, and Alzheimer patients
Maintaining an effective volunteer program that utilized members within the local community
Conducting monthly Family Forums, Resident Council Meetings, and family satisfactory survey forms
Assisted in developing State required Action Plans
Note: During my 20 years as an Activities Director, I have never received an "F Tag" as the result of a State survey of my Activity Department.
