I am a graduate of the Indiana State University Physician Assistant program and I have been working in Interventional Radiology since January 2021. I perform numerous IR procedures and am passionate about delivering the best care possible to my patients. My work ethic and dedication drive me to continually learn new skills and improve my abilities as a Physician Assistant.

WORK EXPERIENCE

JULY 2022 – PRESENT

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (PA-C), NORTHWEST RADIOLOGY – INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY

My responsibilities as a member of the IR team consist of performing inpatient and outpatient procedures in the Ultrasound, CT, X-Ray, and Vascular Lab departments. The procedures include paracentesis, thoracentesis, thyroid/lymph node FNA’s, bone/bone marrow and soft tissue biopsies (liver, lung, kidney), abscess drain placements, chest tube placements, tunneled drain placements, nephrostomy tube placement and exchanges, lumbar punctures, myelograms, cisternograms, arthrograms, and both tunneled and non-tunneled central lines/dialysis catheters. I am responsible for pre-procedure and post procedure orders and plans of care. I also handle consultations from other departments in the hospital and coordinate procedure scheduling.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (PA-C), NORMAN REGIONAL HOSPITAL – INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY

My role consists of performing outpatient procedures as well as inpatient consultations. The procedures include paracentesis, thoracentesis, thyroid/lymph node FNA’s, bone/bone marrow and soft tissue biopsies (liver, lung, kidney), abscess drain placements, chest tube placements, tunneled drain placements (PleurX), nephrostomy tube placement and exchanges, lumbar punctures, myelograms, cisternograms, arthrograms, and fluoroscopy guided procedures. I am responsible for pre-procedure and post procedure orders and plans of care.

APRIL 2015 – DECEMBER 2017

PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN, the little clinic / ST. VINCENT HOSPITAL – ORTHO TRAUMA UNIT

My duties included patient registration and creation of the client’s medical chart, which also included verification of medical insurance and confirmation of co-pays. Responsible for collecting patient vital signs and documenting patient health history. I assisted the medical providers with testing, such as Flu and Strep testing, as well as performed physicals and biometric screenings. After the patient left the clinic, I would sanitize the exam room and clean off any instruments used during their visit. On the Ortho trauma unit I gathered patient vital signs every four hours, collected blood samples for lab work, assisted patients in using the restroom, provided baths to patients per their request, and monitored patient’s intake and output of fluids. I assisted staff in answering patient call lights.
